After the week, we were no longer quarantined to the basement. We had to stay on the mountain since the palace was being fixed from damages, however the enemies had backed off and we were driving them off of our land.

On the other hand, preparations for my wedding were underway, although I had no idea what they were. All I knew was that the less people who knew, the better. I wasn't even allowed to choose my own wedding dress; I had to wear whatever a private tailor could make me. I could tell Tom was not happy with the arrangements either. How could I tell?

All I had to do was step outside.

"I don't want a fucking orchestra. I don't even want a fucking wedding. Just have some guy come play the piano." Tom shouted angrily, throwing his hands in the air while Hailey tried to convince him to hire an orchestra to play.

"It will add dimension to the wedding." She stressed.

"It will be loud and annoying. It's unnecessary." Tom told her in an irritated tone. "I. Don't. Want. An. Orchestra."

"But it will add dimension." Hailey repeated.

"I don't give a fuck! It's my wedding, not yours!" He yelled in reply.

"Tom, come take a walk with me." I offered, going over to him and taking his hand in an effort to calm him down. He glared at Hailey before nodding and following me into the brush.

"This whole goddamn thing is so stupid." He growled, throwing his fist into a boulder. The boulder cracked and crumbled where he hit and he didn't even flinch.

"Tom, calm down. I know, I know. Trust me, I don't want this any more than you do." I told him.

"I know. I'm sorry I'm getting so worked up. I just hate that we have no control over our own wedding." He sighed, sitting on top of the cracked boulder. I sat down next to him.

"Me too. But no matter how it happens, we will still be marrying each other." I smiled, holding his hand.

"You're right. But you know what, I want to do this the right way. I know one thing I can control in this wedding." He told me.

"What's that?" I asked. He hopped off of the boulder and stood in front of me, bending down on his knee and taking out a red velvet box from his pocket. I gasped and my hand flew over my mouth.

"I know I'm not your dream guy. I know this isn't going to be your dream wedding in your dream dress. But you know what, we don't have to live in dreams. This is reality and you know... reality with you is pretty damn good." He said, making me laugh. "Since I found you, we've been through hell and back, but I still have you by my side and I don't ever want to change that. I love you, Mais. So, Maisie Brieanne DeAngelo, will you marry me?"

"Aw, Tom, of course I will. I love you so much. Even though we fight like cats and dogs and we are constantly bickering, I love you." I smiled, hugging him tightly. I felt him slip the beautiful diamond ring on to my ring finger. I pulled back to admire the small piece of jewelry.

"It is a perfect fit." He said, kissing my nose.

"Just like us." I replied, looking up into his gorgeous brown eyes.

"It doesn't matter what our wedding is like. All that matters is that in six days, you and I will belong fully to each other and you will be an official royal." He smiled.

"I agree. Even though it might not be the dream wedding we both want, I am grateful to be yours. And you will be forever mine."

"Mais, the ring has nothing to do with it. Even without being married, I belong to you forever and always. I'm yours. And you're mine no matter what." He told me, wrapping his arm around my waist securely. I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder.

We sat there next to each other for hours, looking over the mountains and forests of our empire.
