"Are you ready to meet Kassimuss?" Jay asked me. We were stood right in front of two huge metal doors with what looked like ancient engravings on them. I took a deep breath and nodded. I had no idea what I was in for.

Two knights opened the doors to reveal a huge room with a high ceiling.

"This is the grand hall of the Palace." Siva informed me. I awed at the paintings on the walls as we walked in. There was a high platform with three thrones on it directly across from where we were. But the thrones were empty.

"Where are they?" I asked.

"Oh, right this way. See, the grand hall is connected to their headquarters, as it keeps them safer to be away from the main hall." Siva explained.

I pretended what he was saying made sense as we exited through a door that lead to another hallway.

"The palace is separated into two main buildings. They are connected by two halls. The grand hall, and the other hall is a big indoor garden. In between is a courtyard we will show you later. But the part of the palace we are in now is strictly royalty and only the best of servants work here. There are three master bedrooms. That first one there is Kassimuss's room. The second is Assysilies. And the one at the end is Mufasa." Jay explained.

He pointed to each door as he explained what they were. This section of the building was very refined. The doors were red and the wood they were made of was glossy. The carpets had intricate designs. At every corner there was a marble table and vase with beautiful flowers.

"Over there, that's the meeting hall. And upstairs are three offices. They each have their own. Everyone is waiting in the meeting hall for us, so let's go." Siva said. I nodded and we went over to a set of double doors. Again, two knights bowed at us and opened the doors.

My eyes landed on a man in a dark blue cloak with jewels on it. He had odd greenish-blue eyes and fangs. He had grayish-black hair and a harsh look. Three guards dressed in all black and armed stood behind him. To one side of Kassimuss was Assysilies. He had a much nicer look. He wore a red cloak, as did Mufasa. They both had brown hair and fangs, but their ambiance gave me comfort that they seemed nice.

"State your name, origin, and business." Kassimuss boomed in a voice that made me want to get sucked into a black hole right there on the spot.

My eyes darted to were Nathan, Max, and Tom were sitting. Tom looked away, but Max and Nathan nodded and encouraged me to do exactly what Kassimuss asked.

"My name is Maisie DeAngelo of New Jersey. When my parents died my aunt from London cared for me before I went to an orphanage there. I work at Starbucks and the local library." I said quickly, hoping I had included all the information he wanted.

"What's your middle name, dear?" Assysilies asked me. Siva had told me that Assysilies was the one with a raspy voice so I knew immediately who he was.

"Brieanne." I replied. It was an unusual name, especially with it's spelling.

"Ah. Maisie Brieanne DeAngelo. And you are the mate of my son, Thomas." Kassimuss said it as a statement rather than a question. I shot a glance at Tom who still wouldn't look directly at me.

"Uh...I... I don't know?" I swallowed.

"Thomas. Is Maisie your mate or not?" Mufasa asked.

"Yes, sir. Maisie is my mate." Tom finally replied.

"Then why does she not know this? The male must treat his mate with respect!" Kassimuss scolded. "My apologies, my love. Thomas is air headed at times."

Max, Nathan, Jay, and Siva all held back laughter at Kassimuss's comment.

"Sorry, father." Thomas said dryly.

"Alright. Well, without further question, we will begin planning the wedding-"

"Wedding?!" I shrieked. Everyone silenced and stared at me. "I'm sorry, but I'm not marrying him."

"Maisie..." Siva whispered.

"I... no. You guys randomly come and abduct me, tell me you're vampires, and now you're telling me to fucking marry that asshole who hasn't paid me any attention? I don't even know him!" I shouted.

"Miss Maisie. That language shall not be tolerated in my Palace. The wedding date is set. Six months from now. It is best you're inducted into vampiracy within the next five days. And I expect you to move into Thomas's quarters by tomorrow. Meeting dismissed." Kassimuss declared.

I felt stuck at the spot. This couldn't be happening. It was like my life was being torn in half. My opinion didn't matter. I was being wedded to a stranger and forced to became a vampire.

I never thought this situation would occur.
