Song: A Daydream Away by All Time Low

Angel.

"Remember when we used to come here with Oscar?" My mother asked, a smile smile spread across her lips. Sighing quietly, I nodded in response. We were both sitting on some old swing sets at the park our family used to come to when we were younger. I remember running around the grass with Oscar while my mom watched from the same swing sets we're sitting on now. "So, what have you been up to?" She asked.

Funny, it's like we're having an awkward conversation over the phone or something. I haven't had a full conversation with my mother in three years and that's the first thing she asks me. Well, it's not like I can blame her. I don't exactly know what to say either.

"Nothing really. My grades are fine but nothing exciting has happened. Well, I did meet this guy and-" I began but she cut me off before I was even able to finish my sentence.

"A guy?" My mother asked, her face lit up with excitement, "Who? What's his name? Is he attractive?" She questioned, sounding like a teenager sharing gossip to one of her friends or something like that.

I chuckled quietly at her sudden enthusiasm, "Yes mom. He's a guy. His name is Alex, he's in a band and yes.. he is attractive." I answered, blushing slightly.

Mom laughed, "You're blushing, Angel." She pointed out, making me blush even more. "Well, I hope to meet this 'Alex' someday but remember, he has to treat you right. Please, don't follow in my footsteps. If he doesn't treat you right, tell him to 'fuck off' and dump his ass, alright?" She finished.

Laughing, I nodded in response. "We're not even dating but yes mom, I promise." I replied, smiling slightly.

Walking past the living room, I smiled slightly once I saw my mother sitting down on the couch. She was watching television but this time, she actually held some emotions on her face. She looked over at me and raised an eyebrow, "Where are you going?" She questioned, looking at me from my head to my feet.

"I'm going out with a friend." I answered, truthfully. Alex and I had talked for a while last night and he had asked me if I was willing to hang out today. Of course, I accepted his offer. I'm glad I stopped trying to build my walls up around Alex because he turned out to be an amazing friend... they all did.

Alex told me that we weren't going to go anywhere too fancy, just the same park we went to last time. I honestly didn't care where we went, anywhere was fine. Besides, I'd rather spend time at a park then go to some fancy, high class restaurant filled with rich snobs. That's just not my type of place.

"Alright, what time are you two going to be back?" She asked.

I shrugged, "A couple of hours." I answered. Thankfully, before she was able to question me further, there was a knock on our front door. I walked down the hallway and answered the door. A wide smile spread across my lips once I saw Alex standing on the other side.

"Hey- wow, you look... amazing." Alex said, his words causing the heat to rise up to my cheeks. I mumbled a thanks and shouted to my mother that I would be back later before closing the door behind me and following Alex to the familiar black car. I sat in the passanger's seat and watched as Alex fiddled with the radio until he settled with listening to Sum 41.

The ride to the park was filled with silence. I could tell Alex was nervous about something but I didn't question him about it. When we finally arrived at the nearly empty park, I quickly got out of the car and followed Alex to the familiar oak tree. We sat on the soft grass and waited for one of us to break the silence.

"Are you excited about the upcoming gig you guys have?" I asked, decided to be the one to speak up.

Alex grinned, "Yeah." He replied, "Zack said there's going to be some guys from a record label there so we're going to put our all into it. Hopefully, they'll think about signing us. If they do, that would be amazing."

"What record label?" I asked, genuinly curious. I didn't know that they might have a chance to get signed. This could be their big break, their dreams would finally be able to come true. I can just imagine them; All Time Low touring the world. That would be amazing.

Alex shrugged, "It's a local label named 'Emerald Moon', If they sign us then we can get a chance in becoming big. You know? Tour the world, have a big fan base... everything we've always wanted would finally be able to come true." Alex sighed.

"So, I wrote another song." Alex announced, smiling shyly. "Want to hear it?" He asked.

I eagerly nodded in response and watched as Alex stood up from the ground and walked towards his car. He grabbed his acoustic guitar from the trunk and walked back towards me. "This song's called 'A Daydream Away'... I um, I wrote it last night while thinking of someone special." Alex stated before clearing his voice. He quickly tuned the guitar and began to sing the new song.

Once Alex was finished singing the new song, I was smiling ear to ear. Alex set his guitar down on the ground and looked back up at me. "What did you think?" He asked, smiling shyly.

"It's amazing." I replied, truthfully. "You said you thought about someone special while writing it, who?" I asked, genuinely curious.

Alex blushed slightly, "Um, honestly.... you." His answer caught me off guard.

"What?" I asked, my voice quiet.

Alex sighed, "You, Angel. I wrote that song while thinking about you because... I like you Angel. I've liked you ever since I first met you." Alex explained. He scooted closer to me and stared at me with a soft expression.

Alex cupped my face with his hands and hesitantly pressed his lips against mine. His rough lips moved against my own, his single touched made goosebumps rise on my skin. I placed my hands on the back of his neck and Alex gently pushed me back on to the soft grass below us.

My fingers tangled in Alex's hair, tugging on the brown hair slightly. Before anything else was able to happen, Alex pulled away from our passionate kiss. He looked down at me and smiled widely. "So, does that mean you like me to?" He asked, even though the answer was clearly obvious.

Blushing furiously, I nodded in response. If possible, Alex's smile seemed to grow wider than before. "Then, will you be my girlfriend, Angel?" He asked. My eyes widen slightly. I said nothing but nodded in response before bringing my lips back up to his.
