Song: O.C.D by Suicide Silence
Angel~
The drive to my dad's house took around four painful, long hours. Neither of us spoke and I decided to fill the silence with some music. I listened to all of the Blink-182 albums and The All-American Rejects until we finally pulled into the driveway of a large blue house. The lights were on and there was another red car parked in the driveway.
Stepping out of the car, I grabbed my backpack which was sitting in the backseat and waited for my dad to open the trunk that held all of my luggage bags. I didn't bring a lot with me, I just brought all of the important things and things I would absolutely need. By important things I mean clothes, my laptop, charger, phone and my CD collection. Plus, a bag of makeup and some of my shoes but not much of anything else.
Once all the bags were out of the trunk, we began walking towards the front door of his house. My dad pulled the key out from his pocket and began messing with the lock until he finally got the door open. The sound of unfamiliar voices caught my attention and my blood began to boil once I saw a short thin woman with curly auburn hair and tan skin approach us.
I watched in disgust as she wrapped her thin arms around my father's neck and pressed her lips against his. Suppressing a gag, I looked around the wide hallway, taking notice of the many pictures of him and the woman hanging on the wall. What caught my attention was a large picture of him, his wife and their kid hanging on the wall. Not a single picture of my mother nor I in sight.
Turning to face me, my father wrapped his arm around the woman's waist, a smug look overcoming his features. "Angel," he began, "this is my beautiful wife, Laura." He said. I snorted at the word beautiful, I bet behind her pounds of makeup and fake breasts, she wasn't so beautiful.
"Nice to meet you." I muttered, sarcasm dripping in my voice. I crossed my arms over my chest and kept my facial expression blank. I've only been here for five minutes and I already hate it here.
My father's face filled with amusement, "Jasmine!" He called out, his eyes never leaving mine. The tension in the hallway was thick and unbearable but I stood there, with my head held up high. I wasn't going to let this cunt and his 'perfect family' get to me.
Suddenly, a short brunette with hazel eyes and tan skin appeared from the living room entrance. She looked to be around three or four and I quickly figured out that she was my father's and Laura's daughter. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't hate her. She's done nothing wrong but, that doesn't mean I'm going to try and get along with her either.
My father looked down at the small brunette, his smug look turning into a look of pure happiness. "Jasmine, esta es tu ermana, Angel." He said, kneeling down so his head was leveled with hers.
Jasmine's eyes flickered to my dad before turning to face me. I watched as a wide smile spread across her thin lips, showing off two deep dimples. Jasmine walked towards me and stuck her hand out. Reluctantly, I shook her small hand and fought back the smile that was beginning to form on my lips.
"Hola," she began, her voice bubbly and friendly, "Soy Jasmine."
"Angel Alvarez." I muttered, pulling my hand away from her hold. No matter how cute Jasmine may be, there's no way in Hell I am going to let myself get close to any of these people. Especially not my father or his barbie looking wife.
Turning my attention back up to my father, I rolled my eyes once I saw him whispering things into Laura's ear, earning a high pitch giggle coming from her. I swear, that has to be the most annoying fucking sound I have ever heard in my entire life.
"Dad," I snapped, feeling completely disgusted by him and his fake wife, "Where's my room?" I asked. All I wanted to do was get away from these people. Well, not Jasmine, she's done nothing wrong but, I so desperately didn't want to be around my father or Laura anymore.
Ignoring me, my father turned his attention to Jasmine who was now standing close to her mother's leg. "Jasmine, borque no le ensenias a Angel su cuarto?" He asked, smiling sweetly at the toddler.
Nodding, Jasmine walked towards me and gestured for me to follow her lead. I grabbed my bags from the floor and began following the small brunette up the stairs and down the hallway until we stopped infront of a white door. I watched as Jasmine turned the knob on the door, revealing a large bedroom.
"Tu.... cuarto." Jasmine struggled to say. I swear, if she wasn't the daughter of that she devil out there, I would probably be hugging and playing around with this adorable little girl. But, I can't do that, I have to keep my walls up.
"Thanks, Jasmine." I muttered and watched as she happily left my bedroom. I closed the white door shut and turned to face the nearly empty room.
The walls were painted a light blue color, the trim painted white and the curtains a dark blue color. In the middle of the room sat a queen size bed with blue and dark blue covers. On one side of the room there was a white desk and a white stool. On the other side there were two doors, I figured one was for a bathroom and the other for a closet.
Despite the size of this bedroom, I can never see this room as 'home'. This isn't home. Home is back in Baltimore with my mother, Alex, Jack, Rian and Zack. That's where home is, not here, not in this fucking place.
Sighing heavily, I kicked off my converse and laid down on the large bed.
Yeah, this fucking place will never be home.
