Chapter Sixteen: If We're Fucked Up Your To Blame

Don't know how I feel about this chapter... Hopefully, though, it's alright for you guys. :3

By the time I had made it to first period the next day, I was almost thirty minutes late to class. There are two good reasons for that. One; Alex had kept me up all last night on the phone and two; even after our long conversation on the phone, I still couldn't fall asleep. My mind was racing with different thoughts and questions.  

I was officially Alex's girlfriend. It still seemed really weird to me that he had asked me yesterday. I never expected Alex to have any feelings for me so when he told me, I was caught off guard. Of course, I'm happy that we're together, now. We went to his house after some of the parent's at the park scolded us for being to affectionate in public. Jack, Zack and Rian came to Alex's house and we told them the good news.  

Once I got to my classroom, I managed to slip in the room without attracting too much attention. We were on the computers today so the teacher was busy looking up things on his computer to notice me entering the classroom. I sat down at one of the computers and typed in the password for our classroom.  

About halfway through the assignment the teacher had assigned us, I felt my phone vibrate inside my pocket. I quickly scanned the room to make sure no one else was watching me. Once I made sure everyone either had their eyes fixed on their computer screen or were too busy chatting away with their friends; I pulled out my phone and saw that I had a unread message from Alex.  

Alex: Do you have a free period next?  

Me: No, I have Mr. Denney next, why?  

Alex: Is it alright if you skip that period? Actually, just the rest of the day?  

I stared down at my phone screen and nervously bit my lower lip. I've never actually skipped school before. The only time I missed out on school was when I was in middle school, Oscar and I decided to skip school and go to the fair instead. Of course, we got caught by the security guard and were put in detention for a week.  

Me: Um... sure 

Alex: Cool, just meet me near the back of the school.  

Me: Alright.  

Sighing, I shoved my cellphone back inside my pocket, I glanced up at the clock and saw that there were only ten minutes left of class. Ten minutes until I go meet up Alex and cut the rest of the day. Well, I guess I don't have anything to really worry about. This school is really careless, my grades are good right now and I don't think we're doing anything important today in any of my classes. I guess missing one day wont be so bad, right?

"Hey." I greeted Zack, Jack, Alex and Rian who were all standing behind the school building. Alex looked over at me and smiled widely. He quickly pecked my lips before grabbing a hold of my hand and leading me towards the fence, Rian, Zack and Jack all following closely behind.  

Once we were in front of the fence, Alex turned to face me and grinned widely. "We're jumping the fence." He announced. My eyes widened slightly and I looked at him in disbelief. Is he serious? This fence is at least ten feet tall.  

"How?" I asked, feeling unsure about 'jumping the fence'. What if one of us fall and get badly hurt?  

Rian chuckled, "Don't worry, Angel. You wont fall." He said, trying to give me some reassurance. I said nothing and quietly watched as Alex climbed the fence. Somehow, he managed to get on the other side without getting badly hurt. Seeing him make it to the other side safely managed to make my nerves settle a bit.  

Suddenly, I felt someone wrap their arms around my waist, lift me up and place me on their shoulders. Eyes wide, I looked down at saw that it was Zack. "W-What are you doing?" I questioned.  

Zack laughed, "Don't worry, I'm going to help you get on the top of the fence. Once you get on top, just jump and Alex will catch you." He explained. I clung on to the fence and started climbing up to the top. I sat on the railing and looked down at Alex with a nervous expression.  

"Don't worry," Alex smiled, "I'll catch you."  

Biting my bottom lip, I shut up my eyes and jumped off the fence. My breath caught in my throat once I felt myself land in Alex's arms. Unfortunately, me landing on him caused Alex to fall back.  

I opened my eyes and felt my face turn red once I realized that I was lying on top of Alex. "Sorry." I mumbled before quickly getting off of him.  

Alex laughed, he stood up from the ground and brushed himself off. Soon, Zack, Rian and Jack joined us on the other side of the fence. Alex entwined his fingers with mine and we all began walking towards the direction of Jack's house.  

Apparently, Jack's parents are out of town for the next week so we don't have to worry about his mom finding out about us skipping school. I just hope my mom decides to stay in today.  

Once we arrived at Jack's house, we all hurried down to the basement. Their gig is tomorrow and they wanted to get in some extra practice to make sure they sound alright. This is their big chance, their opportunity to get signed to a record label. Hopefully, everything turns out alright and nothing goes wrong.

I watched as Alex, Rian, Zack and Jack all prepared to go out onstage. Their set starts in less than five minutes and is only twenty minutes long but twenty minutes is all they need to show the guys from the record label that they're a good band.  

Alex told me that they're going to preform Lullabies tonight. He still hasn't shown Rian, Zack or Jack the song but they agreed in letting him preform the song tonight. I just hope everything turns out alright. The crowd is a decent sized crowd and everyone seems excited in seeing All Time Low preform.  

"You guys are on in one minute." The club owner, Jeremiah, announced. He seemed nice, I had a small conversation earlier and found out that if All Time Low does good tonight, he'll let them preform here again next week.  

They all nodded in understanding. Alex walked over to me and cupped my face with his large hands. He pressed his lips against mine and smiled against the kiss. "Wish me luck." He whispered against my lips.  

I looked up at him and smiled, "You don't need it." I said before quickly pecking his lips. Alex chuckled, he gave me one last hug before walking out on stage, Zack, Jack and Rian all followed closely behind.

Alex looked at the crowd and smiled widely. He quickly introduced the band and announced that the first song they were going to be playing was 'Circles'. All through out the set, I noticed how much the crowd was enjoying their performance. Hopefully, they get the same response from the guys from the record label.  

Towards the end of the set, Zack handed Alex his acoustic guitar and the three of them walked off stage. Alex announced that they were slowing things down and began singing the song 'Lullabies'.

By the time Alex had finished singing the song, the four of us had tears running down our cheeks. We all know about Alex's brother and the amount of emotion he put into that song was amazing.  

Alex thanked the crowd before walking off the stage. He handed Jack his guitar and engulfed me into a tight hug. I buried my face in his chest and smiled at his familiar scent of cologne. "You guys did amazing." I mumbled.  

Alex chuckled, "Thanks." He said before pressing his lips against mine. He entwined his fingers with mine and we all walked out of the backstage and into the actual club. Since none of us were twenty one yet, we all just decided to sit at one of the booths and chat a bit. The guys were sweaty and smelt kind of bad from preforming but I didn't mind.  

The guys from the record label had told Alex that they would contact him in a couple of weeks to inform him on whether the record label was interested or not. Hopefully, they are interested and hopefully, they decide to sign All Time Low to their label.
