Bea's POV
Right after I woke up, I went to the bathroom to wash up my face and brush my teeth. Made sure I smell decent before walking out of my room, straight to the kitchen to cook some breakfast for me and Jho. The idea of cooking for two made me smile, I never did this. Not until now.
As I stepped into the kitchen, all this happy face went missing as I see a girl on her PJ staring at her phone or my phone. My old phone that I allowed for her to borrow for a while just until she can get her own. She was quiet and seemed lost. I felt my shoulders fall as I took steps near her, stopping and sitting on the floor infront of her. She flinched a little, surprised of my sudden appearance but calmed her self a second after. I brushed off the hair covering a part of her face and smiled.
"What do you want for breakfast?" I asked in a casual tone.
"Pancakes?"
"Pancakes." I nodded approving her suggestion.
I took my time staring at her before she turned the phone to face me. It was on the call log and I saw the number of the office. Looks like they called very early for her. I didn't say a word and waited for her to tell the news.
She sighed loudly as she leaned back to her chair. Staring blankly at me.
"What?" I asked as I can't stop myself from revealing my curiosity. She didn't speak at all.
Impatient, I stood up and took her hand and made her stand up as well. Our bodies away by inches, I stared at her and she did the same.
"Ano nga?" I pouted. Impatience evident on my face.
Second later, a smile formed on hers. Slowly yet genuine. It was almost contagious.
"Ano nga, Jho?" Persistent as I can be, I shook her shoulder back and forth and this made her giggle.
"Oo na! Oo na. I got the job!" She laughed and I felt my eyes get bigger.
I held her in my arms with so much sincerity for I was so happy with this milestone in her life. She locked me in her arms too, settling her head on my chest.
"Thank you, Bea." she whispered.
"No need to thank me, it's all you."
I held her face at the same time I broke our hug. We both smiled at each other, savoring this moment in her life.
"Did you call your family already?"
"Oh! Shit!"
She cursed and scrambled on her phone. Placing it on her right ear and turned around.
"Ma!"
I found myself smiling as I opened the cabinet, taking out a box of pancake mix.
Jho's POV
"So this is your place, my office is right over there. Ria is my secretary, talk to her first before you can talk to me. For security purposes." She smirked as I took a seat.
"Grabe. Hindi naman kita aanuhin. Kung may plano ako, sa condo ko na siya gagawin."
"I know that but they don't." she chuckled. "But that sounded like a threat ah? I should probably lock my room starting tonight."
"Psh, yabang." I jokingly said.
"Pero seryoso, if you need anything, i'll be ready to help you."
"I know, Bea. I mean Miss Bea. That's something I should get used to."
"You'll be fine."
She smiled at me with the same sense of sincerity. And the comfortable silence was disturbed by someone.
