In Screaming Color

Chapter 33

"Are you done? Can I come inside now?"

It was almost dinner and Jhoana was inside their tent changing her clothes. Bea had to give her some private time to do so.

"Five minutes pa lang kaya lumipas. Teka lang."

"Eh ang daming mosquitoes."

She whined making the latter laugh inside the tent. Seconds later a mosquito repellant lotion popped out of the zippered opening. Bea took it and applied it to her arms and legs.

"Dadalhin mo ko sa bundok tapos magrereklamo ka tungkol sa lamok? Yan na kaya ang pinakamabuting insekto na makikita mo dito. Maya-maya ipis na yan."

"What?! Jhoana!"

Even before she could do it herself, Jho opened the zippered door of the tent and welcomed Beatriz in before closing it again..

"Oops! Nakalimutan kong anak mayaman ka pala."

She smiled and pinched Bea's cheeks who was evidently scared. Even her nose was sweating.

"Uwi na tayo."

"Nonsense. Panindigan mo yung pangkikidnap mo."

"Oh. Let that go already. This is not kidnapping. Mayroon bang kidnapper na hinahalik-"

Jhoana covered Bea's mouth as her cheeks turn bright red under the dimly lighted cover that they have. Bea's lips formed into a smile under Jhoana's hand.

She could still make Jhoana blush. Perhaps, she's still the girl she fell in love with.

"Your turn to change. Meet you at the campfire they built?"

Bea shook her head lifted her finger and swirled it around.

"Turn around, I don't want you to go walking somewhere when I'm not with you."

"Hindi ako mawawala, kitang kita yung sa campfire dito no!"

"I don't want you disappearing on purpose. Stay, magbibihis lang ako ng clothes. I'll be quick, just turn around for 5 minutes."

"Paano kung in 5 minutes hindi ka pa tapos?"

Bea smirked and forced on making the morena girl turn around before leaning in to whisper a warning.

"Then you would probably have dessert first then your legit meal."

And Jhoana silently thanked Bea for forcing her to turn around before she said those words. How could she even have the courage to mess up her mind with such images?

She might be older but she was definitely innocent!

"I'm done!"

Bea chuckled as she popped her head beside Jhoana's face who was pouting and was not in a good mood. This made Bea's smile disappear in an instance.

"Uy what's wrong?"

"Can you even imagine what images flashed into my mind when you said what you said?"

"Ha? What did I say?"

"You know what you said!"

Bea had to contemplate for a while before she could catch up with Jhoana's thoughts.  She ended up smiling after she realized what Jhoana meant. She finds it amusing that it affected the latter more than it should, giving her the idea to tease some more.

"Why? Ano ba ang iniisip mo sa sinabi ko?"

Jhoana blushed before shouting.

"Wala!"
