Chapter 24

Therese was back and so are her daily visits. She would often stay longer than before and Bea appreciates her friend for doing so. Now, her office isn't as lonely compared to having it all to herself. They would spend lunch together, and sometimes, Det would join in.

It's not like she's complaining but she feels uncomfortable everytime she's with her Mom and without Trey, well, things might not end up so nice.

Jhoana on the other hand kept waking up and finding paper bags on her door knob. Bea doesn't even miss a day to provide her some breakfast. Jhoana would thank her by making her coffee early in the morning. Attaching a sticky note with a thank you scribbled on it. It didn't take her long for her to find herself waking up and looking forward to such things.

She has also started to make herself comfortable in her new apartment. Cath and Jonathan turned out to be good people yet they seldom stop to converse. The two are just always ready to offer some hands.

"Araw-araw na ba yang delivery mo?"

Cath asked as they both stare at Jonathan who is busy fixing her cabinet.

"Ewan. Hindi naman siguro."

"Kilala mo yung nagbibigay?"

Jhoana nodded and Cath smiles back.

"Wag mo ng bitawan yan. He must be very in love with you to not even miss a day."

Jho didn't say anything. She just smiled, she finds it funny to hear Cath talk like that when all she thought about Cath is how kinky she is.

The past days of Therese visiting Bea has done her good things too. Bea is not too bossy anymore and allows her to go home early. Trey would always butt in to contradict with Bea's plan.

"Si Ria nalang ang isama mo, Bei. It's late at hindi na trabaho ni Jho yan."

She would often say. Though Ria would often roll her eyes towards Trey, a laugh would always come after. Jho was back again to her zone.

"Well, you look beautiful today."

"Ngayon lang?"

"Joke lang. Everyday naman."

Rex, her friend, would laugh while correcting himself. Rex has been the good guy who has been helping her with her work. The same guy Bea was jealous with.

Rex is a joker. He has this charming personality that wouldn't make Jho yawn in boredom. She must admit, she thanks God for giving her a friend like Rex at the times like this. But no matter how close they get, she doesn't feel anything romatic towards her friend. And Rex feels the same.

"Hindi talaga kita type."

"Wow ha. Nahiya naman ako sayo. Hindi din kita type! Yabang."

"Inuunahan na kita, baka ma fall ka eh."

"Asa ka. Ulol."

Jho would roll her eyes and give a few jabs on Rex's arm. The two would burst in laughter then.

"So sino ang crush mo? Imposibleng wala."

"Hm. Yoko nga. Baka magselos ka eh."

Jho would punch him again making him flinch in pain.

"Aray! Walang patawad."

"Seryoso nga!"

"Eto na. Hm, sino nga ba? Eh. Nakakausap mo to eh. Baka ibuking mo ko."

"Sino? Si Ria? Halaaa!"

"Baliw! Hindi. Si ano.. si.. ah eh, si Miss Therese."

"Therese? Yung kaibigan ni Miss Bea? Nux ah. Good choice."
