Chapter 12 - Reunion

Damon's P.O.V.

I can't believe my brother came! After all this time he showed up now?! We were about to announce our engagement and Elena's pregnancy. For god sakes, why now?

"So, what's the news everyone's so psyched about? I've gotta say I was a little hurt that you didn't invite me." He said.

Elena was shocked. She seemed like she had seen a ghost. Well, vampire in this case. She was speechless.

"Should it wait?" I whispered to her.

"No. Everyone deserves to know. I'm sorry we didn't invite you, Stefan, but you left. Everyone, I'm pregnant!" Where did that come from? She suddenly came back to earth. I've gotta say, Stefan was shocked. He didn't expect something like that. I could see jealousy in his eyes. He was so jealous of me.

Everyone was shocked. But then they started cheering and congratulating. Caroline jumped and hugged Elena tight. And like Stefan wasn't hurt enough, Elena said. "And we're engaged!" At that point Stefan was furious. Burn, brother. The girls all screamed. Elena looked at me with happiness in her eyes. Stefan furiously rushed out of the house, he went somewhere in the woods. But then Elena followed him. I've gotta say, I was a little hurt but I know she'll never stop loving him.

Elena's P.O.V.

"Stefan, stop!" I said as I followed him through the woods. It was a little dark but I could still see him. "Please, I didn't mean to hurt you!" There was a small clearing. He stopped and I finally got him. "I didn't mean to--" he grabbed me and kissed me. I immediately pushed him away and slapped him. "What is wrong with you?!"

"Elena, I still love you, don't you understand?"

"But I love Damon!"

He pulled me and kissed me again. This time I pulled away even faster. "Stop!"

"Why? Huh, Elena? Why should I stop? You're just human, I can take you wherever I want! I can kidnap you! But you're still not afraid of me!"

"I hate you!" I said as I turned around with tears rushing down my face. The first person I thought of was Aria. I called her.

"Elena, where are you? You just stormed off." She said.

"Can you come to the Grill?" I asked.

"Sure. Should I tell anyone?"

"No."

I walked to the Grill and I sat in a booth in the corner. Aria came inside just two seconds later and sat next to me. She saw something wasn't right.

"Elena, what's wrong?" She asked.

"I told Stefan I hate him." I answered.

"Oh my god, why?"

"Because he tried to kiss me. Twice!"

"Does he still have feelings for you?"

"Of course he does, Aria. He loves me more than I love Damon!"

"But you don't love Stefan."

"I do but I'm not in love with him."

"Elena, there's only one thing you can do. You have to let him go. Move on."

"But how can I move on when I want to spend the rest of my life with his brother?"

"You'll figure it out."

I nodded. I knew she was right, I just didn't want to admit it. Damon is the love of my life. I couldn't ruin our relationship because of Stefan. And now we are about to have a child and get married. I had to let Stefan go.

"You're right."

"I'm always right." She smiled. "Okay, I'll go back to your place and you can come back whenever you want. Take your time." She said as she got up.

"Aria?" She turned around. "Thanks." She smiled at me and left. I ordered myself some coffee and just sat there a little bit more to clear my thoughts. I noticed a girl, sitting across my booth, with red hair, she kept staring at me.

"I don't mean to be rude, but why are you staring at me?" I asked.

"You're afraid of something." She said.

"How did you know?"

"I can feel people's emotions sometimes."

"You're a witch?"

"No, I'm a vampire. I'm special."

"Why are you special?"

"Because I'm the first turned vampire. Can I join you?"

"Sure." I said as she sat across me.

"So what are you afraid of?" She asked.

"I'm human and pregnant and the father's a vampire."

"Only two kinds of people can do that. The Petrova doppelgänger and any twins. I'm guessing you're a Petrova doppelgänger." I nodded.

"Look, there's nothing to be afraid of. This has happened a lot of times."

"Really, it has?"

"Sure. It almost happened to me." The expression on her face changed.

"How?"

"That's a story for another time." She said forcing a smile.

"Sorry, how rude of me, I'm Elena."

"Ashlyn. Everybody calls me Ash." We smiled.

"So, who's the lucky guy?" She asked looking at my ring.

"Damon Salvatore. You may know him."

"I've heard of he Salvatore brothers. I've never met them."

"Do you mind me asking, how old are you?"

"I'm 1100."

"Wow."

"Yea, Klaus turned me to protect me. He was a very good friend of mine. "

"He's here now, if you want to see him."

"Sure." We both stood up and walked home. I opened the door. Caroline, Tyler, Matt and Jeremy had left. Damon was talking to Aria and Klaus.

"Elena, where did you go?" Damon asked.

"I wanted some fresh air."

"Did Stefan--"

"He's gone, Damon." Damon nodded and then he saw Ashlyn.

"Ashlyn." Klaus said. He got up and they hugged. "It's been such a long time."

"I'm sorry, I'm Ashlyn." She said to the others.

"I'm Aria. This is my brother, Damon."

"Sit, make yourself comfortable." Damon said. She sat on the sofa and I sat next to her.

"So, Ashlyn, where are you from?" Aria asked.

"Mystic Falls. I was born before it became a town."

"How old are you?" Damon asked.

"I'm 1100."

"Wow." Aria said.

"I turned her just after I became a vampire." Klaus said. "We were best friends."

We spent half the night talking and blah blah blah. We offered her to stay here, since she didn't have her own place. There was a guest room, so she stayed there.

Ashlyn's P.O.V.

The moment I fell on the bed I fell asleep. I was so tired from traveling all day.

I woke up in the most comfortable bed. I turned around and saw Kol.

"Rise and shine, darling!" He said with his heavy British accent.

~FLASHBACK~

"Come on, stop!" Klaus ran after me in the woods.

"Try and catch me!" I said as we both laughed. I was a little faster than him, but then he was letting me win of course. I hid behind a tree. I turned around to see if he was here. When I turned back and saw Kol. He put his arms around my waist and kissed me.

"You're back." I said.

"I missed you so much." He kissed me again.

"Well, your brother has kept me company."

"Come out, come out, wherever you are!" I heard Klaus. We both came out.

"Brother, you're here!" Klaus said happily and they hugged. "Sister will be so happy. I am going to get her." He ran home.

Kol and I kissed again and we went home too.

~END OF FLASHBACK~

"What are you doing here, Kol?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.

"Aren't you happy to see me?"

"You didn't answer my question."

"Neither did you."

I got up and went to the bathroom. I took a shower and then I put on my black jeans and a red shirt.

"So, what brings you to Mystic Falls?" He asked. 

"I could ask you the same question."

"You've changed." He got out of the bed and stood very close to me. 

"So what?" Our lips were inches apart. 

"Ashlyn, I missed you." He crushed his lips on mine. I kissed him back. Oh my god, he's so hot. Our tongues played the war of love. His arms moved around my back, making me shiver. My fingers were playing with his soft hair. I wrapped my legs around his waist and he laid me on the bed. I have to admit, I missed that body. We had both so many years of experience. It was powerful.
