Chapter 14 - Miss Mystic Monster

Elena's P.O.V.

I was a little nervous, I have to admit. The Miss Mystic was tonight. But, I still had the whole day. My mom wanted me to go to that pageant, not me. This is for you, mom. I was looking at myself in the mirror, only in my black panties and bra. I was one month pregnant, still no belly. I noticed Damon had been staring at me, he was stending next to the door.

"Perv." I smirked.

"Ouch." He said as he pretended to be hurt. He came up to me and hugged me from behind. He moved his hands around my stomach.

"My dear, little princess, you're going to be the most spoiled daddy's girl. And you'll have the best mom you could imagine." He said.

"How do you know it's a girl?"

"There can be only one eternal stud." He said, as he smirked. I laughed and laid him on the bed.

"Cocky much?"

"Very much." We kissed.

"Come on, I'll be late for school."

"I wish you could stay here forever."

"Me too but unlike you, I don't have all the time in the world." I said as I got up.

"Hey, Elena. Would you ever want to be a vampire?"

"I don't know Damon. I mean, it's not like I haven't thought about it. Maybe. Some day." I said and got dressed. I put on my light skinnies and a light brown blouse. Since it was March, the weather was different everyday. Yesterday, it was really hot and today it was cooler. I took a jacket, just in case it got really cold. I took my backpack and went to school. I saw Ashlyn. I hadn't seen her yesterday, we decided to leave her alone with Kol. She waved at me and I hugged her when I got closer to her. She always looked fun. This time she wore light pink jeans and a sweater-shirt with flower print Dock Martens and a panda backpack. Her long curly hair was up to her waist.

"How are you?" I asked.

"I'm awesome." She smirked.

"Sooooo, what's up with you and Kol?"

"Oh, we're just friends with benefits."

"Good, I don't want you running off with some Original." I smirked.

"Hey, the Miss Mystic is tonight, right?"

"Yeah, do you want to join?"

"Oh no, I don't like competitions. It's just an excuse for a council meeting."

"You're right. Okay, I'll see you later." I said and went to my first class, English.

After school I got home, showered twice and started getting ready for the Miss Mystic Queen. The dress fit perfectly. Ashlyn did my hair and makeup. I looked amazing. A little like Katherine, I have to say. She's into all that black-vampire-bitchy-thing, right? Meh.

Damon was my escort but I couldn't find him home. There was a knock on the door. I opened it and there he was. He looked all fancy in a suit, with a limo behind him.

"You look stunning." He said, trying to find the right words.

"You don't look so bad yourself." I said, smiling. He held out his arm and I took it. We got inside the limo. We arrived and I went upstairs to meet with the girls. Aria was wearing an amazing black dress and her makeup was awesome. Caroline was all in red, red looks good on her. We waited a little and then I heard Mrs. Lockwood say:

"Caroline Forbes, escorted by Matt Donovan!" Caroline smiled at us and walked down the stairs. She waved and then took Matt's hand. "Aria Salvatore, escorted by Tyler Lockwood!" Aria shot me a nervous look at walked down the stairs too. She looked at Tyler, who hand out his hand. And then she called me. "Elena Gilbert, escorted by Damon Salvatore!" She was a little confused when somebody gave her a piece of paper and I guess it said 'Elena SALVATORE'. But why Salvatore? I'm still a Gilbert, Elena Gilbert. We haven't gotten married yet. I walked down the stairs as million thoughts rushed through my mind. I took Damon's hand and quickly went outside. We started the dance.

"Are you alright?" Damon whispered.

"She said Elena Salvatore."

"So what? Soon it'll be true." He smiled. And then I realized.

"Damon I can't do this." I said as I ran away. I cried and all my makeup was ruined. But I didn't care.

"Elena, stop! Tell me what happened." He said, running after me.

"I can't do this, Damon. I can't. I'm only 18 and I'm already pregnant with god knows what and I'm engaged to a vampire!"

He was speechless.

"Say something." I said in a half-voice.

"If that is how you feel." He turned around and walked away. I could feel his heart break.

"Damon, no, stop!" I cried as rain started pouring. Now I was all wet. Perfect. "Please, Damon." But he was gone. I ruined everything. Great. What kind of a person am I? What is wrong with me? What did I just do? I let the person I love walk away. I am a monster.

Dear diary,

I am the worst. I will never forgive myself. How could I do that? Like it wasn't me. I would never act that way. What is happening to me? It's been only five hours since it all happened but it feels like a century. After he left something happened. I started shaking violently and went unconscious. Now, I'm in the hospital. Meredith said it was a miracle how I survived, even though she seemed like she was lying. Never mind. I'm so stupid. I want to marry Damon. I want to have his child. Why did I do that? Why did I say all those words?

I put the diary in my bag and turned off the lights.

I'm in the woods. Something's not right. There's no sound. Usually there's wind or the trees or animals. This is pure silence.

'You are a monster and you deserve to die. You are a monster and you deserve to die.'

Where do all this voices come from? I'm scared. But I can't run. I can't move.

'You are a monster and you deserve to die.'

Stop! I can't even speak. Like the words are stuck in my throat. There are some bells ringing. It's getting louder.

'You are a monster and you deserve to die!'

I close my eyes and try to make it all go away. I open them again and I see Damon, holding something in his arms. But Damon looks very different. He's all bloody. He's skinny, I can see his bones. All of his nails are chipped and there are black circles around his eyes. But what's that in his arms? It's the baby! Oh my god. It's bloody and its' heart is ripped out.

'You did this. You are a monster and you deserve to die.'

Damon says.

'You killed your own child. Monster!'

He shouts. I can't do anything. Oh my god, what's happening?!
