It was just another day for Damon and Elena. They didn't talk, they just occasionally glanced at each other. It was breaking both their hearts and all they wanted was to lay in each other's arms but they were just too damn stubborn. And it was ruining them. To them, it was just another day. Little did they know, it would be one of the happiest days of their lives.
Some people say, that if you want something so much, you would get it eventually. But that isn't necessarily true. Sometimes, just sometimes, if you wait long enough, it would come to you.
It was 3:46 in the afternoon. Damon was sitting by the fireplace, reading his favorite book, whilst Elena was across him, laying on the couch. She was sick, her illness was killing her. But what was her illness? Was it a sore throat or the flu? No, her illness was far more different than that. It was a broken heart. And the only one who could fix it was sitting just across her. But that's the funny thing about stubbornness. Neither of them would give up. They were both waiting for the other one to apologize. But if neither of them would apologize, what would bring them back together? Or who?
There was a soft knock on the door. Was it Aria? Or maybe Stefan had came back from hunting? Elena was the one to get up and open the door. But she couldn't quite recognize the person standing in front of her. That person would be Hannah, her long lost daughter. But Elena didn't know her. She had grown up, she was different. Her hair was a golden color, unlike her black hair when she was a baby. She was tall and skinny, just like her mother was when she was a teenager. But there was one thing that stayed the same, one thing that made Elena finally recognize this mysterious girl. Her eyes. That same mesmerizing blue color as her father's.
"Hannah?" Elena's voice came out more as a whisper.
"Mom?" The girl used a word that sounded so foreign to Elena. But it warmed what was left of her heart. The mother and the daughter hugged each other tightly, letting the tears slide down their cheeks.
Damon got a little worried. What was taking Elena so long? Who was at the door? He walked to the door and saw two girls. The two girls he loved most.
"Dad?" The girl pulled away from her mother's arms and ran to her father. He was too shocked to react. The girl wrapped her arms around him and he felt happy once again. He hugged her back.
"How..What happened?" Her parents were full of questions they were asking each other for years. And now she was here, waiting to answer their questions.
