Chapter 17 - Never Leave Me Again

"I would like to have a baby, but I'm worried it would end up like Robert. And you know what we went through then." We were laying in bed and I just had to tell him.

"I know, me too. But Elena and Damon did it. Why can't we?"

"Because we won't be able to handle the pain."

"And what makes you so sure we will be in pain?"

"I don't know, I just have a feeling."

"Well, are you sure you want to spend the rest of our endless lives without a third person in our family?"

"I...I don't know." Tears filled my eyes.

"Look, we can be a family again. Not just the two of us, we can have child. At least we can try."

"Can we just not talk about this right now?" I sat up and looked at the clock. It was 23:40. "I'm gonna go get some fresh air." I said and got out of the house. I headed for the woods, Elijah's note said he'd meet me there. After 15 minutes of walking, I finally saw him. He had been waiting for me.

"Elijah, what is it that you wanted to talk about?" I asked.

"Hurting you was never my intention. You know that you're the one that I care about most. I love you so much and I know that you will never love me back."

"I'm sorry. But it's him. It always has been, it always will be. Klaus is the one."

"Okay, with that being said, I have to leave now. I won't be bothering you anymore."

"What? No, you're not bothering me!"

"Yes, I am. I will only slow you down and you are supposed to move on with your life."

"Elijah, please don't leave me. You have no idea how much I need you right now." I cried.

"I'm sorry it had to be this way." He walked closer to me and kissed my forehead. I hugged him tightly and sobbed in his shoulder. I knew he was crying too.

"Please don't leave me alone."

"You have Klaus. You'll never be alone."

"Elijah, please." He pulled away from the hug and let go of my hand. I couldn't just let him go. No, I won't lose him again. He turned around and started walking away. "Elijah...I love you." He turned around.

"I know. But your love for me isn't the same kind as mine for you." With that, he vanished somewhere in the woods.

"Elijah! Please come back!" I yelled hopelessly. He was gone. All of the feelings that had been building inside me suddenly came out and I collapsed on the ground, crying. I was alone.

"Please Elijah..." I whispered. "I'm all alone, I need someone." My voice cracked as I curled in a ball.

"I'm here for you." Two strong arms wrapped around my waist. Who could this be? I turned around and saw a person I really missed, Stefan. It was a long time since I had last seen him and I really missed him.

"Stefan!" I smiled through tears and hugged him. "What are you doing here? Where have you been? Why did you leave me?"

"I never left. I've been watching over you. I couldn't just leave my baby sister alone." He smiled and kissed my forehead.

"I missed you so much."

"I know, me too."

"Can you promise me that you won't leave me again?"

"Yes, I promise."

"So where are you staying?" I asked as we got up from the dirty ground.

"Hotels."

"But why did you leave, yet stay?"

"I needed some time to process the whole situation. With Elena and Damon. I still can't believe it."

"Stefan, can I be honest with you?"

"Of course."

"I think that you should finally let Elena go. Don't be offended but it's obvious that she loves Damon and they'll spend their life together. You should get over her, or you will be stuck here forever. Go search for someone else, or I don't know. Do whatever you want, just please don't do yourself harm by thinking about her all the time. You'll be doing yourself a favor."

"Well it's easier said than done."

"Just please get over her, I'll help you."

He nodded. "I just want the best for you. You deserve a good life. Not a life behind the shadows of your past, thinking about what you should have and shouldn't have done."

"Thanks for that motivational speech, sis. I appreciate it."

"No problem." We smiled at each other and he walked me home.

"Goodnight, see you."

"Goodnight." He kissed my forehead and left. I opened he door and was greeted by a very panicked and worried Klaus.

"Where were you?" He frantically asked.

"I took a walk." I said and he hugged me.

"I was so worried. Don't storm off on me like that ever again. You have no idea how concerned I was.

"I'm here now." I smiled and kissed him.

"Look, I know I've talking a lot about having babies lately. I'm sorry, but just being around Hannah made me want one. And then I remembered the bad things. And I understand why you don't want a baby. So I'm sorry for mentioning it a lot."

"It's okay, you're forgiven. I love you."

"I love you too."

~A/N: so this is kind of a filler chapter. sorry, I needed this one so I can continue with this story. I promise the next one will be longer, with more action, more drama and everything. this is just the beginning. lol. So anyways, I love all of my readers, thank you so much for reading and voting and commenting! I will probably update the next chapter soon, I have some ideas and notes. Okay that's a long authors note.
