Our Lives Have Changed

Before starting this story, please read the first book "Love".

The Brown's Family has been the lower 48 for a week now. Every family member would work jobs to keep money flowing. Billy, Ami, and Rainy were at the hospital every day. They were staying in a motel with two families per room. The children and the wives slept in the beds as the husbands slept on the floor. Lacy had gotten a job as a director at a small theatre that will have a play in the next two months. Amelia and Eleanor have stayed at the hotel to take care of the children each day. Grace had gotten a temporarily position that really did help with the motel fees and medical expenses. Blaine had started working at an art studio that sells his art. The owner had seen his art and wanted to do a show for him.

Grace POV

It was amazing to actually work in a hospital. I miss that. I love working in Browntown but sometimes I miss the fast pace of a big hospital. I was skilled in general and OB, the hospital loved that I had two specialties instead of one. "Grace, you are needed in OR 2." "On my way." I love my job.

Amelia POV

The kids were running around like crazy. We were trying to get them down for a nap. The girls were laying down and trying to go to sleep but the boys would not listen. "You are going to take a nap or I'm going to get your Uncle Bam to spank you." The boys stop running as they climb in the other bed. Eleanor and I sit on the couch as we lay our heads back and fall asleep ourselves. 

The boys are working on a demolishing job. All five of the boys were working on this job. The owner said that every brother would receive a good cut. They had also said if they got it done by a certain date then they would get even more money.

Blaine POV

I was working on my latest sculpture. The main manger needed thirty pieces done in the next month. I had twenty more to go. I was loving every minute of it. I had never worked in a studio that had so many great quality tools. My tools were worn out because I had been using them for the last eight years. My boss, Lauren, walked in as she came to look at the art. "How is the progress coming along?" "It's coming." "I think you are making great progress. Have you ever considered photography?" "Yes, I'm going out in the next few days. I want to finish with this piece first and then I can focus on other pieces." "Sounds great! Keep it up." She was a big fan of my work. I couldn't thank her enough.

Lacy POV

I was the first day of audition for my new play. We were putting on Peter Pan. We were having auditions for the pirates and Indians today. My assistant director, Andrew Goode,  was a local and had been a part of this theatre for the last couple of years. We met a few days ago during an employee luncheon. The publicity manager introduced us. I had brought Noah with me and it looked like he was putting on a face for me. "Ready for a long day?" "As ready as I'll be." We have a long list of people auditioning. There was one man that had come in to audition for Captain Hook. He was doing an ok job; I knew we wouldn't cast him. The way he looked me gave me the creeps. He stared me down like a piece of meat. We thanked me as he steps closer to our chairs in the audience. "Would you like go out for a drink sometime?" "No, sorry, I'm happily married."  "Oh, you're married?" "Yes, to a great man." "You have my number on my sheet, if you ever want something more." Why would someone say that to me? I love Noah with all of my heart and my children were my world. We had gotten back to the auditions and we saw our last one as the sun was starting to set. Andrew walked me to my car as we said goodbye.

I made it back to the motel and I walk up to our room. Stefan runs over to me before I could close the door. "Hey buddy!" I get down on his level as I give him as kiss and hug. Noah was holding Valerie. I walk over to Noah and give him a kiss as I take her from his arms. I start talking to her as she grabs my face. Eleanor walks in with Diana as she takes the kids to dinner as Noah and I are left alone. Before the door is closed, Noah grabbed me by the waist as he kissed me. I giggled at his forwardness as he walked me backwards to our bed. We are laying there after making love as we talked about our day. He was talking about the job and how they would finish it in a few days. "How were the auditions today?" "Great, we did the pirates and Indians. Then I guy asked me out for a drink." "He did what?" Noah sit up to look down at me. "I told him no, of course, but it looked as if he was unhappy with my answer. I know your biggest fear is not being enough for me and the kids but you are. I love you with all of my heart." I start tearing up as he put his arms around me. "I couldn't live my life without you." We just held each other and all you could hear was our breathing.

Snowbird POV

I was out with Blaine as we were picking up dinner. We were walking across the street to have sandwiches tonight. I'm asking him how his art collection was coming and he just said it was coming. "Lacy's birthday is coming up next week. We need to plan something." "Yes, we do." "Is something bothering you?" "No, it just has been a long day." We fetch dinner as we walk back to the motel. I see a strange man sitting in his car, just looking at me. Then he drove off after I had noticed he watching me. He made me feel uncomfortable. We walk inside to take everyone their dinner. Mom was holding Peter as he was falling asleep. He woke up every three hours on the dot. I felt sorry for Matt, Amelia, and Isabella with constant crying from him. They haven't complained yet.

The family ate their dinner as they returned to their rooms. The next day would be a long day for them. Their world was about to change even more.

Anonymous POV

Lacy wanted me and I knew it. She had changed my life. I hoped I would get the role and I could spend more time with her. I wanted her to leave her husband. I wouldn't let any other man have her but me. If anyone tried to take her away of me, I would kill them in cold blood. I would make her want me.

Lacy POV

I wake up in the middle of the night from a nightmare. I feel like someone was watching us. I step over Noah and walk over by the window. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I shook my head as I think I'm going crazy. I walk back to bed and climb in slowly. I watch my children sleep. I see Grace sleeping with the twins and I turn over to look at Noah on the floor. I missed sleeping next to him. I fall back asleep knowing there are more auditions tomorrow.
