Sorry for the delayed update! I've been dealing with the so-called writer's block kaya sobrang hirap na hirap ako makapag-update. Anyway, enjoy reading!

"Have you heard the news? Anak ni Lady Eavour si Dame!"
"What?!"
"Not just that! Dame is a half vampire! The heir to the throne!"
Luna's mouth hung open, and her hand, still holding a spoonful of food, stopped midway. She sighed and looked at Iraia, who was staring at her innocently.
They finished their lunch in silence before leaving Ensiv. The news had already spread throughout the Academy, and there was nothing they could do to stop it.
Walang masyadong malinaw sa detalye, pero sapat na ang chismis para mag-panic ang buong academy.
Paglabas nila, ilang estudyante pa ang narinig nilang nag-uusap.
"Then he's the only half-blood existing?"
"What will the consiglio do now?"
"He's been a hottie ever since, but knowing how he's a prince? Nadagdagan pa lalo!"
"Sis, nauna ako. Itabi mo."
Luna rolled her eyes at the last comment. Nagkatinginan ulit silang dalawa ni Iraia, parehong hindi malaman kung matatawa ba o maiinis.
Pagbalik nila sa Teadra, tahimik na bumagsak si Luna sa carpet. Literal. Nakatingala sa kisame.
"Paano nila nalaman?"
Iraia shook her head. "I'm not sure, babe, but I'm certain it has something to do with the consiglio and cinco."
Luna exhaled sharply. "It wasn't even supposed to be a secret, but... no one was ready either."
"Hindi naman sila takot sa katotohanan," sabay kindat ni Iraia. "They're afraid of power they don't understand."
And that discussion has been on going since the war ended.
Being a half-blood means you're destined for great misfortune. For a half-blood who lives is closer to everything impossible.
That's what the cinco and the consiglio have come to terms with. When word gets out that Damien is a half-blood, it won't just endanger him, it will put his entire bloodline at risk.
People from different kingdoms can marry and have children, but only if the child can absorb the same amount of energy as their parents.
In terms of blood, each kingdom bears its own distinctive mark. The components of their blood are unique.
Normal cestiors, those with parents from the same kingdom, have only one type of blood running through their system.
A half-blood, on the other hand, carries two bloodlines within his veins. It is up to his body to decide: will it accept the dual heritage and let him live, or will it tear him apart from the inside, wrecking his organs until he dies?
In other words, the mere existence of a living half-blood is nothing short of a miracle.
"Dame's the first half-blood ever existed." Mahinang bulong ni Iraia at marahang sinuklay ang buhok ng kaibigan.
"Even so, both of his parents are members of the consiglio and cinco. They probably did everything they could to protect his identity, but they still failed."
