You and Jackson, everyone knew you because you were the school's star couple, the campus couple, rather.
Many girls envy you and sometimes rumors bad things which really aren't true. They were just curious how Jackson fell for a simple girl like you because before, you were just a studious, straight A student who wore big spectacles and had an outdated style in clothing.
Although you two had different personalities, being you the quiet and innocent one while he was the playful, socially-active guy, the both of you still shared the same feelings for each other.
It was really surprising when the whole school knew that you two were dating and it made them think how a nerdy girl like you got a hot popular guy like him.
But that was then until you knew about the bet.
His friends made a bet with him to see if he could make you fall for him in less than a month, which actually kind of took longer than he thought. After a month of him flirting and courting you, you finally fell for his trick.
It was two weeks after when you started dating and soon enough you were told by one of the girls that it was just a bet. Of course, you didn't believe her but still, it made you think why Jackson courted you when you were way out of his league, considering that you were unpopular unlike him.
"Jackson, can we talk?" His smile faded as he heard your serious way of speaking. He knew it was something important.
"What is it?" He locked gaze with you when he turned.
"Why did you like me?" Your tongue wanted to stop speaking but you found a way not to stutter a word you said.
"Well, you're smart, beautiful, nice, pretty much every good thing in this world, you have it. And that's why I like you." He held your hand and looked up at the sky. You two were sitting on a bench at the park and there were just a few people around.
"How about me? Why did you like me?" He smiled like a child waiting for your response but what he just received was a sigh from you.
"Can we go home now?" You didn't know what to answer him especially because it was like you were telling him how you felt and you weren't that kind of person who expresses your feelings towards others.
His smile faded again but quickly initiated a faint one before walking with you to his car.
After you got home, you immediately went to your room and shut the door behind. You cried on your pillow, leaving it almost drenched with your tears. You weren't sure of why you cried but maybe you just had to. Although you still weren't sure if he was still playing tricks on you or if he's really into you now, it made you sad thinking that he didn't really have the intention to like you in the first place.
You became cold towards him after. You didn't talk much to him and sometimes you would excuse yourself to go to the washroom just to be away from him. He noticed this of course and he wasn't sure why you did this. He just played with it thinking that you were just on your 'month' so he gave you chocolates whenever he had the chance.
One unlucky day came.
You were on your way to school when you spotted a familiar guy chewing onto a girl's red chapped lips with his hand even holding her bun.
You watched them closer and you immediately recognized them. It was none other than the girl who told you about the bet and the one who did the bet.
'What a perfect match.' You thought to yourself.
You ran to the entrance of your school and went to your first class immediately.
It was true then.
The rumors too that even became the school's newspaper headline. You knew it was too good to be true, a guy like Jackson falling for a quirky, lame, gullible girl like you? You knew you were stupid enough to believe what he said. Where's that smart, beautiful, nice, pretty much every good thing he said in you?
By the time you saw him at the cafeteria with his friends, you did what you had to do and that is because you wanted yourself not to be tricked anymore.
"Wang, we need to talk." They all turned to you with shocked and worried expressions on their faces hearing that you called him by his last name.
"S-sure." He stood up but you pushed him down again.
"We'll talk here." That was it. The moment of truth yet to be known by the whole school.
"Tell me the truth, was I just a joke to you? Laughing at me because I was stupid enough to believe in your sweet talking nonsense? Or maybe I was a toy that you played with because your last one broke its face because you almost ate it? Oh, what's that on your face? Regret? So are you showing me that frown because you're now regretting the day you messed with my pride? We'll I'm not falling for that anymore, you stupid airhead. I hope you end up with Ms. All Buns over there and live a happy life. I also hope that she was as smart, beautiful, nice, and pretty much every good thing as I was. Goodbye and until we don't meet again, Jackson Wang."
Everyone gasped and whispered to each other right after you walked away, leaving him and his friends dumbfounded. Jackson ran after you and when he turned you around, you slapped him.
"I know about the bet, jerkface. Don't even try to deny it." You walked away again and exited the school grounds.
That was it then, the end of your first relationship. What's worse is that he was also your first love and he just ruined it.
