I remember how we met

We met thanks to him currently looking forward to the future

Believing that he was so high

Nothing bad would ever happen to him

That he didn't have a flaw

He was getting a tour of the campus

Our scouts having seen his impressive streak in baseball

His good grades granting him scholarships

His personality giving him the right connections

My class was the third one they showed him

I hadn't noticed him when he first came in

I had to speak in front of my class and wasn't keen on being interrupted

Especially by a highschooler

Of course, it was the highschooler however who corrected me on my error

He listened to my lecture on lionfish, and seemed rather interested himself on the subject so well to even correct my mistake aloud

I was embarrassed and a little rattled at the fact that someone so young had corrected me

I turned to lay eyes on him and was surprised at how short he was

He was very boyish looking

Hair was messy as if he recently rolled out of bed and forgot to comb it

A small blazer hugging him in the wrong places

And skinny jeans too tight I would have thought they were made for sticks

He wore odd assortments, but made them look casual and fitting

I turned to him and asked how old he was

He told me, "Seventeen and a half, I'll be eighteen within three months"

I smirked and crossed my arms over my chest, having a feeling that someday he'd be a great addition to my class

Yet, I felt intimidated by him

I was taller

More rugged-looking

Had clean cut hair

Clad in clothes I spent an hour ironing out

And was older

But, I was nervous

I said, "Well then, it's a pleasure to meet you-"

"Calvin"

I smiled charmingly at him, "Calvin," his name lingering on my tongue longer than necessary

He grinned and my breath caught in my chest

"It's nice to meet you too, Professor"

He was beautiful
