"Why?" she asked, anxious by the way he had been acting the last few days

She wasn't shocked, in the back of her mind she knew

Even without him saying his full sentence

She knew

But she wanted to know why

When she asked, her heart sank lower when he raised his head and looked her in the eyes and said, "Because I'm gay"

She forgave him
