Light Side (Sequel to Dark Side)

Chapter 16

*2 MONTHS LATER*

Harry decided Aura was big enough now to learn how to hunt. She grew a lot in those months. Her hair was now over her shoudlers, and her eyes had become more and more beautiful. But she's still so tiny.

She held onto me as we darted into the woods. When we got there, Harry started explaining a few things to her. I'm not sure if she understood, but she looked like she was listening. I kept her close to me and pressed us against a tree.

"Just wait until you hear a sound, Aura. Until then, stay really quiet." I tell her, putting a finger to my mouth.

At this time, Aura technically has the brain of a three year old human. She may be only seven months old, but she is very smart. She can speak some, and I know she understands our words well.

"Got it?" I ask in a whisper.

She nods, then puts a finger to her lips, showing me she understands. I smile and stand up taller. We were gonna let Harry do the hunting, so she doesn't have to do it on her own right away. She did a really good job at keeping quiet.

Finally, there was a small noise, and a deer appeared. I held onto Aura's arm, showing her to stay still. Harry inches closer slowly, looking back at us every now and then. I kneeled down next to Aura, pointing things out that Harry did. She watched, obviously interested in what Harry was doing. And she watched the whole hunt.

It must be in her vampire nature for her eyes to be able to take things like that. She took it really well too. Even I had a really hard time watching it the first time. I slowly walked her over, and we all had a drink. Harry made sure no one was around while we did this.

After we finished, Harry carried Aura back to the house. I walked next to them, then we sneaked through the back door. Harry set Aura down, then she followed me into the living room.

"You did very well, Aura. Someday, you'll be able to hunt on your own." I tell her, kneeling down next to her.

She smiled, then touched my face. I grabbed her small hand and kissed her fingertips.

"We're not very normal, are we?" I asked.

She turned around and picked up her toys. Harry walked in, then sat down next to her.

"Well all of this is normal to her. Shes never been a human." He says, brushing her cheek with his thumb.

I sighed.

"Oh well. We'll learn how to deal with it." I say, kissing her cheek.

Harry grabbed me around the middle, laying us down on the floor. He showered me with small kisses, and I let a small laugh out.

Finally, I was happy again.

One day Harry, Aura, and I are out, walking around the forest. Harry's holding her, and her eyes were looking everywhere. We had already ate, so we were just walking around for fun.

She made a small squeal, then Harry put her on his shoulders. She laughed and hung onto his curls. I smiled at her and Harry held onto her arms. She bounced up and down, laughing. I laughed along with her. She just sounded so cute.

A couple of people saw us, but I couldn't care less. We look like a normal family anyway. They were giving us funny looks though. Probably because we look so young. Which is understandable.

Harry took her off his shoulders and held her on one arm. With his other arm, he wrapped it around my waist. I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder as we walked.

When we reached a small park, we sat down in the grass under a tree. Aura pulled at the grass, then threw it down. I smiled and put a hand on the top of her head.

At that time, she looked like a normal baby. But she was born a vampire, so she must already know how to change her look whenever she wants.

Harry and I layed on the grass, our fingers twisted together. Aura climbed onto Harry's stomach, one leg on each side. Harry smiled at her and kissed her soft cheeks. Her face scrunched up, then she touched his face. He took her small fingers and kissed them softly.

"Hey, I remember you two." A sudden voice said.

We both quickly sat up, and my eyes grew a little.

Liam.

My first thought was Aura. I grabbed her and hid her behind Harry and I. But Harry stood up, blocking us. I followed him up, but stayed behind him.

"What do you want?" Harry said, his hands tensing up.

I held Aura close. Liam raised his hands and backed away.

"Hey, I don't want trouble. I just saw you over here and thought we could, catch up." he said, his fangs showing.

Harry's eyes were digging into him.

"Leave. We don't want you here." he snapped, pointing his finger at Liam.

Liam laughed a little, then nodded.

"Ok, ok. Fi-Who is that?" he asked, pointing at Aura.

I held her closer, and Harry covered us. Then Liam understood.

"You two had a baby? You got her pregnant?" Liam asked, a grin on his face.

Harry's hands were now in fists.

"You will not touch them." he said, his voice angry.

"I cant believe you two did that." he said, his eyes huge.

"I'm gonna tell you this and I'm gonna tell you once. You, or Louis, will not touch either of them. If I see you near them, you will be sorry. And I'm not afraid to lose my temper around you. I will not hold back." Harry said, stepping closer.

Liam stepped back, then put his hands in his Jean pockets.

"I'm not gonna touch them, Haz. But Louis, I don't know."

Harry grabbed Liam, about to strangle him. Then he realized Aura's watching and stopped. He threw Liam away from him, almost knocking him over.

"Get out. You will not touch them." Harry snapped.

Liam smiled, showing his long, sharp fangs, then disappeared. Harry turned back to me.

"Harry." I said, holding Aura to my chest.

He stepped closer.

"They wont do anything, baby. I wont let them. Don't worry."

I nodded. Aura reached her hands out, wanting her daddy. He took her and held her close.

"You'll be alright, sweetheart." he told her, stroking her long hair.

"They wouldn't do anything anyway, right? I mean, what would they do? Shes only a baby." I say.

Harry looked over at me.

"They wont do anything. They just want to intimidate you. They want you to be scared. Trust me, they wont do anything." He says.

I nod, then we decide to walk back home.
