Light Side (Sequel to Dark Side)

Chapter 23

There were so many people in the room.

I was sat on a chair, with two men on either side of me.

"Do you know why you're here?" The man at the desk asked.

I shook my head, not wanting to talk to him.

"Were you born a vampire?" he asked.

"No." I said, my head still low.

"Then how and when did you become one?" He asked.

I sighed.

"It was almost two years ago I think. My boyfriend changed me into one." I said.

"How did he change you?" He asked.

I tensed up at the memory.

"I was bit by another vampire, and my boyfriend saved me from dying by draining me of all my blood. It just sorta happened. I cant really explain it." I say.

The man nodded, righting down what I said.

"And you are the one with a child, correct?" he asked. I

nodded, then teared up thinking about Aura.

"And she was born a vampire?"

I nodded. "Yes."

He wrote that down.

"May I ask what you're doing with her?" I asked.

He looked at me.

"We're just running painless tests and checking her reflexes. Just seeing how she reacts to things. She is fine, I promise." he said.

I nodded, but I was still worried.

"And how do you eat?" He asked.

"We hunt animals." I say.

"So you don't hunt humans?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"Most do, but we don't." I say.

He nodded.

"Where were the men taken?" I asked.

He looked back at me. "

They're on the other side of the building."

I tensed up.

"Why are we being separated?" I asked.

He shrugged.

"You don't know? That's-that's my boyfriend." I say, standing a llittle.

"Look, we just need to figure this all out, ok? Please calm down mam." he says.

My anger for these people grows.

"Look, you took away my boyfriend and daughter away from me. And that's not ok with me. I would like to see them and I would like to see them now." I say, my fangs growing.

Everyone noticed my sudden anger and held me down.

"Why are you doing this to us?" I asked, my voice cracking.

"We need to learn more about you-"

"creatures?" I finished for him.

"Creatures? Monsters? Is that what you think of us??" I asked, my claws coming out.

"Please calm down." he says.

"I cant calm down! You took my boyfriend and daughter away from me! How could I not be angry with you?" I asked.

The men were holding me, but my anger was taking over. My fangs grew, and I pried myself out of their grasp.

"Give me them back. Now!" I snapped.

They jumped, then looked at each other.

"We cant right now. Maybe-"

"Now!" I screamed, scaring them.

They took my arms again, holding me down. Everyone was standing, staring at me. One of them was holding my head with their rough hands. I screamed, lost it, and bit one of their hands. The man I bit yelled in pain and backed away, cursing repeatedly. I received a slap to the face for that one. But I really didn't care.

My fangs flashed, and then I started crying. I fell to my knees and cried. Tears rained down my face.

"I think we've had enough of her." The man said.

The other men dragged me out, putting me in a room of my own.

"Your boyfriend is in the room next to you. Stay here." one said, locking the door behind him.

I sank to my knees again and cried my eyes out until my stomach hurt. I lost control. I bit someone and lost all dignity. And I cant forgive myself for that. I heard a banging on the window of the room, and my head shot up.

I saw Harry, and a wave of relief flowed through me. I quickly stood up and ran to the window, putting my hand up to it. Harry and I stared at each other, not saying anything. The tears in our eyes were enough to explain how we feel.

My forehead fell onto the glass of the window, and I cried. Harrys eyes were shiny too. Was he crying? Probably. He was trying to talk to me but I couldn't hear him through the glass. This is too much. I hate this, and we need to get out.

I cant live like this. I just can't.
