A couple days later, it was actually pretty quiet at the house.
Harry was laying on the floor, Aura sitting on his stomach. She was messing with his necklaces, twisting them around. I was on the couch, messing with my hair. I wouldn't say I was bored. Just relaxed for once.
The only sound was the television, which no one was actually watching. Harry took Aura's hands, kissing her small fingers. I smiled a little, then crawled down next to them.
I sat behind Aura, in between Harry's long legs. Aura turned around to look at me, then turned back around. I really doubt we've all sat this close before. I took Aura's hair, weaving it in small braids. She leaned her head back, letting me fix her hair. I think she likes it actually. Her hair is so soft, like Harry's. She even has small curls, which I find adorable.
I finished her hair, then undid the braids by running my fingers down her hair. Harry sat up, making Aura fall into my lap. I held onto her, hugging her middle. I kissed the top of her head, then picked her up. Harry stood up, and I followed.
"Do you want to take her out today?" he asked.
I thought a little, then shrugged.
"I can. She does seem to like when you do it with her, though."
He smiled a little.
"Then she'll just have to learn how to deal with you."
I smiled and kissed his cheek, then we sat down on the couch. Aura immediately climbed back down and sat on her blanket, playing with her toys. I layed down in front of Harry, and his arm went around my waist. My eyes closed, and I hung onto his arm.
A couple hours later, after I changed Aura into a new outfit, we set out to the woods. I held onto her hand, and I could tell she was anxious to get there.
"Ok, I don't know how you and daddy do this, so work with me." I say as we step into the forest.
She looks up at me, then looks around the trees. I walked her over to one and I kneeled down, making myself her her height. There wasn't a sound to be heard. Aura was looking around, her face full of concentration. Whatever Harry was teaching her, he was doing it right. I've never seen her so focused.
Suddenly there was a small noise, and both our heads turned in that direction. Aura took small steps ahead, and I stood back up. Its a rabbit. Would she be able to catch this one herself? Probably not. Shes so young.
We both crept toward it, not making a sound. Then, once we were close enough, we struck. The animal couldn't outrun both of us, that was obvious.
We ended up catching a couple more small animals, packed the blood up, then left the woods.
"Nice catch, sweetheart."
I stopped dead in my tracks, then slowly turned my head.
Louis.
I almost ran away, but that would make me look weak. But out of habit, I did grab Aura, keeping her close. She looked at Louis innocently.
"What do you want?" I asked.
Louis laughed a little, then crossed his arms.
"I don't want anything. Dear lord, I was just looking around the forest, chill."
I rolled my eyes and held Aura a little closer.
"Ok, what do you think I'm going to do to her? Kill her? Come on. I'm not that evil." Louis says, his fangs showing.
I sigh. "Well, how do expect me to trust you after everything?" I asked.
He shrugged.
"I'm not asking for your trust."
