Chapter 5 - Meeting the Howards Part 2

Russells POV

Y/N left with mum to start making lunch which left me, Kerry, Dan and Dad in the living room.
"Well I really like her!" said Kerry. "Ha yeah so do I" said Dan in a suggestive way. "Oi!" I said as I launched a cushion at his head. "Agh you dickhead" moaned Dan.
Kerry rolled her eyes at us and said, "What I meant is that I think that Russell has found the right person!". Dan started making vomiting noises at Kerry. "Dan just because you can't find anyone!" I said. "I'll have you know that I have found many girls!". "What, on the street?" said dad. We all burst out laughing apart from Dan who flipped us all off with his middle finger.

We all carried on talking until mum and Y/N had made lunch. They both came out af the kitchen and mum said "lunch is on the table" so we all gathered up to the table. However, I noticed that Y/N didn't seem the same. I can tell when there's something on her mind and it sure looks like it. Mum better not have said something weird to her. I'll ask her about it later.

Y/Ns POV

I saw Russell look at me in a concerned way. I tried to look happy, but for some reason I couldn't get it out of my mind about how he has been treated so badly before. It made me angry, especially that he was cheated on for two years! I also wondered why he never brought it up before, and why I never realised how sad he was. decided to just forget about it.

We all talked some more during lunch and when we had all finished, we were discussing what we could do for the rest of the afternoon. "I know! I'll get the board games out!" Said Ninette. Everyone started to complain and moan. "Not bloody board games" said David. "Oh for fuck sake" said Dan. "Scrabble again?" Said Kerry. "We all know how scrabble will end!" Said Russell."
"Oh no not scrabble! I thought we could play Monopoly!"
"That won't end up any better" said David.
"I don't care! We are a family and we must spend time together! I'm sure Y/N doesn't mind!"
"Yeah I don't mind beating you all" I said.
"OH NO Y/N I AM THE CHAMPION IN THIS HOUSE AT MONOPOLY!". Said Dan.
"NOT ANYMORE!"
"Ooh watch out Dan" said Russell, "Y/N is very competitive".
"Too bad I'm STILL GOING TO BEAT HER" said Dan. We all laughed at his stupidity.

We had been playing the game for about 2 hours. Russell, Kerry and David had gone bankrupt and Ninette was still in the game aswell as me and Dan. Dan was winning, and I was losing.
" Trafalgar square, who's is that?"
"HAHA MINE!" Dan shouted, jumping in victory. "That's another £200 for me!"
"OH FOR FUCK SAKE" I moaned, paying up my money.
Russell put his arm around me and said "Awh you're adorable when you're angry". "Russell, don't touch me, this is serious business and you're distracting me. Everyone laughs as he draws his hand away.

Another half an hour into the game and Dan and I were the only ones left. Almost all of my money had gone but I wasn't giving up yet, because I still had my secret weapon ...... a hotel on Mayfair.
Again I landed on another on of Dan's properties which meant that I only had £20 left. "Y/N you might aswell give up" Dan said. "Yeah Y/N I don't think you can beat him now" Russell said.
"I WILL NEVER GIVE UP" I said, making everyone laugh again.
Then it was Dan's turn, he rolled a 4 and a 3, making him land on ....... my hotel on Mayfair. "OH MY GOD YES!!! I WON!" Everyone bursts into laughter as Dan freezes. He finds out that he doesn't has enough money which makes us all burst into laughter again. "Well Y/N looks like you're the new champion of the house!" Said David.

When it was a bit later, we decided that it was time to go.
"Bye Y/N it was lovely meeting you" says Ninette who gave me a hug and then winked at me.

Russell and I entered the car and started the journey home.
"See I told you" He said.
"What?"
"They love you Y/N, I told you they would!"
"I love your family too Russell, they are lovely people".
"I was worried you would find them a bit .... weird"
"My family is the same, they seem quite normal actually".
"It looks like you and my mum are quite close"
"Oh .... yeah" I said, remembering our conversation in the kitchen. Russell must have noticed that there was something wrong because he asked "What did she say to you?"
"Oh nothing just stuff about you loving me"
"And?"
"About you ringing her up when you first met me"
"She told me she wouldn't tell you that!"
"And about ...."
"About?"
"..... Cerys"
He froze, unable to think of what to say. All he could come out with was ".....oh".
"I'm sorry" I said, realising that I shouldn't have brought her up.
"Why?"
"For what she did to you, and for bringing her up"
"Don't be sorry Y/N, you didn't do anything. In fact I should have told you myself, not leave it up to my mum to tell you. All you really need to know is that I'm over her and want nothing to do with her anymore."
"I just feel so angry that someone would do that to you, and just use you for the money."
" It makes me angry too, but luckily now she's not in my life and I have you. Someone who I love and understands me, someone who makes me smile and laugh, and someone who actually loves me for me."
I smile at his words. "I love you Russell"
"I love you Y/N"
