Austin's POV

- 3 weeks later-

I walk into the house, finding it spotless and I sigh, taking in the silence and I remove my jacket, laying it on the armrest of the couch and I hear cooing coming from the kitchen.

I walk to the kitchen, finding my mom cooking and Adelaide laying in her bouncer on the countertop as Willow watches her

"I'm out numbered." I laugh as I catch their attention and I walk to my mom, kissing her cheek as she smiles at me and I proceed to greet Willow and Adelaide.

"Hello, Mr. Mahone." Willow says and I give her a warm smile.

"Please, call me Austin." I say and she nods as I unbuckle Adelaide and I softly pick her up. "Hi, princess. I missed you." I say as she yawns and I kiss her forehead.

"How was work, honey?" My mom asks and I sigh, sitting on the stool as I hold Adelaide.

"It was alright. Running a record label seems harder than I thought." I joke with a laugh and my mom turns to face me.

"But your dad wanted you to follow his footsteps, maybe even would've been one of his signed artists." She says and I chuckle.

"Would've and could've but I think it's too late for that, mom." I say as Adelaide begins to fuss and I get up. "I'm gonna put her down, it's her bedtime." I say and without another word, I walk upstairs and I make it into Adelaide's room.

I quickly change her diaper and I change her into a different pair of clothing before I wrap her up in a blanket and I cradle her in my arms before she begins fussing again.

"Hey, hey. It's okay, I'm here." I whisper as I rock on my heels. "You need to sleep, baby girl. I love you so much." I smile as she stops crying and yawns.

I rock her for a few more minutes, pacing around the room as she slowly drifts to sleep and I kiss her head before I set her down in her crib and I make sure to turn on the baby monitor and I grab the extra that sat on her dresser.

"You're doing so good with her." I hear from the door and I turn to face my mom.

"I try." I sigh. "I fear that I might fail to meet the required expectations to be the best fit father." I say and she wraps her arms around my torso, pressing her ear against my chest and I wrap my arms around her shoulders.

"Honey, you're doing great. Even if you are a single parent, you're great at it." She compliments and I kiss her head, making her chuckle.

"Thanks for believing in me." I say as I lay my head against her head and I hear my mom sigh in content.

Becky's POV

"Have you spoken to him?" Sarah asks as she hands me a cup of coffee and I take a quick and careful sip.

"No. I have tried calling him but he won't answer. I haven't seen my daughter in over three weeks." I sigh as I hold my chin in my palm and I watch Sarah take a drink from her coffee.
