Becky's POV

"Becky, something happened to Austin and Michele." Zach mentions and I burrow my eyebrows before I notice Robert walk into the room.

"Robert what is he talking about?!" I yell and he puts his hands up in defense.

"You should've waited until I got here." Robert grits at Zach and I grow impatient, before I sit down and I tap my index  against the counter and Robert glances at me. "Fuck. Becky, Austin is gone." He says, smoothly.

"Yeah, he's in San Antonio with Michele." I argue, rolling my eyes and he shakes his head, slowly. "What the hell do you-" I stop myself once the words itself process in my head.

"Becky?" Robert asks with worry in his voice.

"By 'gone' do you mean what I think you mean?" I ask, afraid of his response and I feel my chest tighten when I glance between all of them and they stay silent.

"No. You're fucking with me! No. No." I say, the tears building up at the corner of my eyes. "You're messing with me, right? Tell me you're messing with me!" I say and I grab his collar.

He sets me down easy and his hands grip my shoulders. "He's gone. It happened last night, they're both dead." He mutters and I burry my face in his chest while I sob.

That was all I needed to hear to understand what he really meant.

-a week later-

Today was the day. The last final day to say goodbye to him and I hated every minute of it. His room was left the same and his pillows smelt like him, minty with a hint of cologne in the mix.

His drawers had everything, his shirts, his pants, his undergarments and every single memory I could think of.

The house itself was a shrine and a full on memory lane.

"Are you ready?" Zach asks, standing by the door frame and I nod, picking up Adelaide who was asleep on the mattress.

"I'll take her." Robert offers once we make it downstairs and I hand her to him, before he kisses her head and Zach walks me to the car.

"Are you sure you're ready?" Robert asks once I sit in the passenger seat and he buckles Adelaide into her car seat.

"I have to be. I have to say goodbye and now is the only time I'll be able to. The last thing he told me was to wait for him and I'll do just that." I sigh and I stare straight ahead, taking a glimpse of the huge house that once was my only safe haven.
