Chapter 60

Austin's POV

-two weeks later-

"So what did she think?" Robert asks as I hand him a beer bottle and I look around the kitchen at the boxes that surrounded us.

"I guess she loved it." I laugh as I point at the boxes and Robert chuckles as he sits on the island. "I hope, she seemed a little indecisive but I think this is good." I say.

"Good for who? You or her?" Robert asks as I take a swig from the bottle.

"Both. There's too many memories in this house." I laugh lightly as I drag the bottle on the counter. "Way too many." I mutter.

"Why didn't you just leave the city? You know, a fresh start." He says before he takes a drink and I nod, thinking it through.

"I thought about it but I know she wouldn't want that, she has everything here." I explain. "Her family is here and I know that would hurt her if we ever moved across the country."

Robert nods before Becky walks into the kitchen along side with Dani, who looks like she's about to pop.

"Shouldn't you be sitting down instead of helping? You are pregnant, you know." I laugh and she glares at me as she sets down another box on the kitchen table.

"Fuck you, I'm in perfect shape. I'm close to the finish line, twenty four weeks today." She smiles as she rubs her bump and Becky presses her hand against her belly as well.

"Leave her alone. She looks cute pregnant." Becky says before she kisses her cheek and I laugh, nodding.

"Okay, okay. Have you heard anything from Alex?" I ask, knowing it was pointless and reckless to ask.

Her face expression changes and I instantly regret it. "No, actually. I haven't seen him since my last ultrasound." She explains and I can feel the tension in the air.

"Anyway, who wants breakfast? We have a lot to do today and a new home to move into." Becky chimes as she stares at all of us and I clear my throat.

"How about pancakes, baby?" I say and she nods, before she kisses my cheek and I watch her bring out the ingredients.

After an hour of a long awkward breakfast, Becky and Dani head upstairs to pack up the rest of Adelaide's room and Robert and I decide to pack up the kitchen and the pool equipment.

"So I heard that this place has everything huh?" Robert asks as he proceeds to take down the plates from the top shelf.

"Pretty much. Staff and everything, it's like living the high life." I laugh and I set cups and silverware into a box.

"How did you afford all of this, Austin? I mean, it's practically a mansion." He says and I grab a few pots and pans.

"I had inheritance from my dad before he passed away. Apparently he owns or owned a huge company out in New York and he left me millions before he died." I explain and Robert nods.

It has all happened so quickly, a house that was much bigger than this one. A pair of cars that could pay for at least half of my house bills and the luxury that seemed so unrealistic.

It explained why my mom was always so stylish and elegant, she had millions along.

Becky's POV

"You're joking, right?" Dani asks and she folds Adelaide's clothes and sets it neatly into the box.

"No." I say, embarrassed and I watch Dani's mouth fall open as I confess my affair with the recent man I had been sleeping with. "You can't tell him, please. I'll tell him eventually." I beg.

"Becky-" she begins before I interpret her.

"No. Just don't. I know it's bad, especially now that we're moving into my dream home but I can't let this go." I say and she shakes her head, disapprovingly.

"I can't keep that a secret. It's not fair to him." She says and I sigh, before running my hands through my hair. "Are you not telling him because of the money?" She questions.

"God of course not." I snap. "I love him, I just don't know how or why it happened, it just did." I explain.

"How long? How long have you been sleeping with him?" She asks and I'm afraid to answer her.

"Since before Zach." I say, biting my fingernail and Dani looks at me in disbelief.

"For over a month? Since before or after he left for Texas?" She questions loudly and shush her.

"After. We met at a gathering with a few friends and we kind of hit it off and I believed things with Austin were over and then he came back and I didn't know how to end it and then Zach happened and then I knew I couldn't tell him. He'd leave me." I say, scratching the back of my neck and Dani sighs, before placing a hand on my thigh.

"You have to tell him. Now or before he finds out on his own." She suggest and I nod slightly.

How do I tell my fiancé that I had been cheating on him for over a month with the same guy? That was a hard subject to being up in a casual conversation.

I felt shame, I loved him but it was the rush, the adrenaline that kicked in when I knew we'd be close to getting caught, that drew my back in. As cruel as it sounds, I couldn't tell him. I wouldn't and I couldn't, no matter how much Dani pleaded me to, I wasn't going to do it.

"Hey, are you guys done?" I hear from the door and I jump in my seat as the voice startles my thoughts.

"Sorry. Um, yeah. Almost." I say, not turning around and I feel Austin's hands squeeze my shoulders before he gently presses his lips to my skin and I watch Dani as she uncomfortably shifts in place.

"Okay. Well, just bring them down when you're done." He says softly. "I love you."

"I love you too." I mutter, before I shut my eyes from preventing the unwanted tears to fall.

"Tell him." Dani whispers and I shake my head.

"I can't. I don't- I don't know how." I frustratingly say. "I can just go up to him and say, 'hey babe, I've been cheating on you for the past month or two with a guy I met at party."  I say and Dani's eyes widen and she shakes her head.

"What?" I question and she bites her lip as she looks down at the pile of clothing on the floor.

"You're cheating on Austin?" I hear Robert  ask and I shut my eyes, as I mentally scold myself.

Fuck.  How would I explain this to his best friend?
