Jake found himself frozen something about the way Issac was looking at him sent nothing but chills up his spine. Next to him Jake saw Lance reaching behind him, but Issac's cold eyes went to him and Lance instantly froze. Jake and Lance were stuck, Issac was too close to them. If he wanted to, he could probably kill them both right now. He knew how fast Issac was and there'd be no time for either of them to get their daggers out. and Jake had no way of getting his Slayer out in time to fire it. Plus Lance wouldn't be able to change fast enough to put up a decent fight.
Maybe, Jake thought as he looked up at the moon, Damn, not full Lance can't fight as a human- At that moment Jake remembered Will's idea. "Issac," Jake said willing his voice not to shake, "I-we have an offer for you."
"You have and offer for me," Issac said in an amused voice tilting his head and smiling showing his bloody teeth. "Pardon if I'm not leaping with joy, but isn't it me who has your lives in my hands?"
Jake had not answer for that, Issac was right they weren't really in a position to make an offer. Then an idea came to him.
"Kill us and you can't find that vampire you're looking for," Jake said in a more confident voice than he felt. Issac stiffened at those words and it looked as if he was almost angry, A start Jake thought. "Let us live and we'll help you-"
"What help can a novice and a cub be to me" Issac asked rather calmly the anger that was there a moment ago was now gone from his face, "I don't think you have the slightest idea about who's behind all those massacres do you?"
"What hope does one vampire have of taking on more than a dozen vampires," Lance shouted and Jake saw him tense up his fingers sprouting claws.
"A dozen," Issac repeated tilting his head again before shaking it, "You really don't know who you're dealing with if you think it's only a dozen. The vampire I'm after has dozens, maybe even hundreds of vampires at his command. Why do you think I'm killing them off bit by bit? There's no way I'd charge into their hideout with so many, I'll bring down their numbers and than I'll begin searching."
"Won't it be easier with help," Jake asked hoping to somehow get Issac to let his guard down, "After all I may be a novice but I did manage to kill three of those vampires, hes killed two-"
"I've killed twenty," Issac said mockingly, but he leaned his head back as if he was thinking about something, "Tell you what, I'm hungry so if you don't mind I'm going to have a little snack."
Before Jake could ask what he meant Issac lunged at them. Jake had no time to react before Issac forced him to the ground, raising his hand back and was about to bring it down, but Lance crashed into Issac rolling down into a ditch. Issac had wound up on top with his hands around Lance's throat, Jake grabbed for his Slayer, took aim, and fired. Issac's head shot up and let out a cry of pain falling to the side grabbing for his shoulder. Lance was rolling trying to get away and was holding his neck gasping for air. Jake looked back at Issac who was getting to his feet again holding his shoulder his eyes burning and looking right at him.
"You little shit" Issac snarled and he threw off his jacket, "You're dead,"
Jake raised his pistol and fired again catching Issac in the other shoulder, Issac fell back grabbing his shoulder. Damn it, Jake thought. Just as he was about to fire again two huge wings shot from Issac's back and his body had nearly doubled in size. Without thinking Jake fired again, the bullet hit Issac's lower back just below a wing. Issac whipped around his black hair covering half his face and the eye that wasn't covered was blazing with fury. Issac let out a roar and was running at Jake who fired again, but Issac didn't seem fazed by it as he was charging Jake.
Issac slammed into Jake-his Slayer flying from his hand-Issac was holding Jake against an old train car. There was a loud crack and Jake was suddenly struggling for air. Jake was struggling feebly to get Issac's hand off of his chest, finally he reached behind him, grabbed his dagger, took it out of it's sheath, and sank it into Issac's hand. Issac let out a roar and drew his hand back letting Jake fall to the ground gasping for air. Jake looked up and saw Issac reaching a hand back to strike, but after the sound of a loud bark Issac was bulldozed into the train car.
