Lance walked into the front lobby of the church and saw Father Matthew conversing with a cloaked figure. Lance knew that this figure was the witch that Father Matthew often called on named Ray Grimmwel. Even though the names suggests Ray was a man, the figure of the witch was more feminine than a man should be. Ray's shape always puzzled Lance, because Ray always spoke in a deep voice and the shape of Ray's body was the shape of a woman. Father Matthew looked over as Lance entered the room and Ray followed his gaze and only nodded.
"Lance, good to see you," Ray's voice said though distorted by some sort of spell, Lance guessed it sounded male which still confused him. "You seem to be growing up quite well."
"Um thanks," Lance said politely but was actually feeling rather awkward, "Nice to see that your-...cloak is clean."
"C'mon Lance really," came a voice from behind Ray and Lance instantly knew who it was, Elaine "You don't need to give Ray a complement just because you got one."
"I-I did not," Lance cried but he felt his face get hot and knew he was probably blushing, "Besides what're you doing here I thought Ray was coming alone this time."
Elaine just smirked at him and gave a little chuckle, as she walked over and kissed Lance on the cheek. This didn't help Lance's feelings right now as he saw both Father Matthew and Ray looking at him. Elaine elbowed Lance in the ribs, he looked down at her she winked and tugged on his arm for him to follow her which he did.
"I think Ray and Father Matthew wanna be alone right now," Elaine said guiding Lance down to the gallery. "Personally I came cause I wanted to see Jake and chew his ass out, and partially cause Ray told me you guys adopted another boy."
"Will," Lance said as he let Elaine pull him along, "And Ellie why were you acting so flirtatious back there?"
"Because if I didn't make it look like I really wanted to talk to you, Ray wouldn't let me out of his sight. So I figured why not make it look like I like you," she said jokingly, "Besides I think its cute when you or Jake blush. Anyway Will sounds cute mind introducing me?"
"Oh trust me you won't wanna get to know him that way," Lance said laughing at Elaine's lips puckering up as they do every time she gets annoyed. "If you quit pulling me around, I'd be glad to introduce the two of you. And you can chew Jake out later he's asleep."
"I suppose," Elaine stopped and gestured for Lance to lead the way, "Lead the way boy."
Lance rolled his eyes at Elaine and started walking, after hearing Elaine follow, he quickened his pace. Though Lance would never admit to it, he always had sort of a crush on Elaine. She was a very pretty girl, he thought. But her jokes about his curse got a bit annoying and made her less attractive. Lance still had his crush though, he couldn't help it her big hazel eyes, her slender body, and her wavy black hair just stuck out among other girls and Lance never really had any feelings for anyone else but Elaine.
"Hey are we almost there," she asked sounding a little bored, "I don't get how you guys don't get lost in this church it has so many twists and turns, ups and downs, backs and forths it makes my head spin."
"Guess I just got used to it," Lance said than added, "Or maybe its just that I'm smarter than you are, and you can't figure your way around."
"Hey," she said smiling and hit Lance's shoulder, "No need to bring smarts into this, just be a good doggy and find Will."
Lance playfully pushed Elaine who stumbled and fell into a wall, Lance seeing her eyes flare up ran down the hall as fast as he could, hearing Elaine coming after him. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he called back "I didn't mean it."
