Jake and Elaine were coming up from the basement, Jake wasn't entirely sure about how he felt telling Elaine that he loved her. What's worse is the fact that he's deathly afraid that she might not love him back. She was silent when he'd told her and it looked as if something had broken inside her, she didn't say anything else only kissed him again and they'd gone back upstairs only to find Rayne and Dominick arguing.
Well this sure as hell isn't going to help my mood, Jake thought to himself and his moodiness wasn't helped by the sighting of Rex. Jake didn't want to have anything to do with Rex right now, sure he was just trying to look out for Jake but who the hell was he to tell him how to live. Jake was just all around pissed off at the world right now and everything going on around him didn't do him any favors.
"For the last time Rayne we must go back to Terra," Dominick said in a firm voice his red eyes bright with frustration.
"And I'm telling you we aren't fit to go back right now," Rayne said in an equally firm voice, Jake had always done whatever Rayne said when she used this voice. Whether she was Ray or Ms.G it didn't matter the voice always worked, but Rayne seemed to have met her match as far as intimidation went. "Jake still needs to rest, my powers are acting up, my student is drained, and one of our little group has gone missing. We need to stay longer if not just to confirm that he's alive or not."
"We don't have time for that Rayne. Andrew's a big boy he can look after himself," Dominick's voice was beginning to grow louder and Jake saw that his black hair was getting a tinge of red in it, a sure sign that he was losing his patience. "I can feel that there's something going on in Terra, I can't say how but I just feel it."
"If that's the case than go. No one's making you stay here you know." Rayne said waving her hand dismissively.
"I have strict orders to bring you back to Terra with me, and I will not be disobeying my orders," Dominick said as his hair was now a dark crimson and his eyes were beginning to blaze. "Now you're going to come with me now!"
"Don't go raising your voice to me elf," Rayne's voice boomed and suddenly all the lights were snuffed out as she rose to her feet her hair raising from her shoulders and a blue light coming from her eyes. When she spoke again it sounded as if another darker voice spoke with her. "I'll not be having an elf order me around. So sit your ass down or you can try my patience even further it's your choice!"
Instantly the red light in Dominick's eyes vanished as he sank down in a chair he looked like he was trying to shrink away from Rayne. Jake himself as well as Elaine, even Rex started backing away from Rayne who looked like she was about to blow. Than just as fast as it had happened Rayne's anger disappeared her hair fell back to her shoulders and the lights came back on.
"I'm sorry Dominick," Rayne said her voice returning to normal, but her eyes were still glowing though just slightly. "But we're not leaving here until I say we are."
Dominick was silent but his face showed no signs of arguing, though who could blame him? Jake was standing a good ten feet away from Rayne and he felt like he was in danger, he could only wonder how Dominick felt being right in front of Rayne when that happened.
"Good now I don't want any more pointless arguments coming from you alright?" Rayne asked and Dominick simply nodded, than Rayne turned to Rex. "Have you found anything near where you lost the trail?"
"No Miss. Grimmwel but my sister is a little better at looking than I am," Rex said although there was still a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "But I think if you came with than we might-"
"Out of the question," Rayne said in a firm voice. "I can't go out there right now. With my powers acting up the way they are I could likely hurt some innocent people."
