"Everywhere I turn there the past is, either knocking at my door or just standing there staring me in the face." -Paris Vaughn-Stewart
Paris directed her daughter, Latavia, in every direction she needed her to go. She was in more pain than needed, and wanted her daughter to be her designated driver whenever Octavia and Eric weren't available.
They were on their way from the doctor's office, and Latavia had trouble finding her way around that side of the town. She had never been in that section of the city in her entire fourteen years of living, so this was indeed her first time being in the section.
Once she drove down the Main Street leading toward downtown, she knew she had found her way completely back to home. The surroundings were familiarized and she felt sudden relief take over. She was always a bit on edge whenever she was placed in a new environment, regardless if it's in the same exact place she's familiar with. It's nerve wrecking being forced into another society, she fears of many things happening all around her at once.
Paris chuckles, smoothing out her daughter's straightened hair to ease her nerves more. She felt the sudden tension in the car once they entered inside, and was driving around for fifteen minutes to try and leave the neighborhood. She always calls Latavia her "full of doubt" child due to the way she acts in certain situations.
"Ease up, Tavi. You know your way home so relax, baby. Don't need a repeat of what happened last time I let you drive." Paris informs Latavia as they drive through traffic downtown.
She would have taken the highway, but Lord knows that would not end so well like the last time Paris let her do so. She nearly wrecked Malcolm's truck and cost them their lives. She didn't want that repeat, especially while being stuck in Redwood's crazy five o'clock traffic.
Paris needed a driver anyway after her and Malcolm's first time having sex on last week. She woke up the next morning with severe, unbearable stomach pains, and major bleeding from her uterus. It was apparent to her doctor that Malcolm was a bit more than rough with her than he needed to be.
He warned them of rough sex and that they should be more than careful the next time around. In order to make sure she was safe, the doctor wanted to perform more tests on her, so she needed to stay overnight. She couldn't believe she was back in the hospital once again, and this time it was the cause of trying to be pleasured.
She found it funny in that moment on how sex sent her to the ER. She felt their story should have been on the hit sitcom.
But Malcolm did not find the advance too thrilling and comical. He hated that he hurt his wife, and also put her back where she did not want to be again. But, after her sexual advances of making him feel good about having the extravagant "mini me", he settled down and went along with the comedic statements.
After she was released, Malcolm called Jules for their kids to return home within two days tops. Even though he felt that he could take care of his wife on his own, there were some days during the week where he needed to be out of town on meetings, so keeping an eye on her and tending to her every need he could not do. Besides, he has three kids that are at home who help out regardless.
Once the kids returned home, Malcolm left a boatload of chores on a sheet of paper, then headed out for his trip. It was a simple house duty list for Latavia and Octavia, and yard work for Eric to cover along with the help from Triston and his grandad Eric.
But once those chores were finished, Paris let them tend to their own business and let her rest alone. There was no way she would leave her bed, especially after the doctor placed her on bedrest for two weeks.
