You've always been that precise type of person. If something has to be done you do it, no matter how much time it would take you and even no matter how much energy it would cost you.

Today is your final exam of the third year at university. You've been studying like crazy for this exam. You would wake up, eat your breakfast and learn the whole day through, even the nights wouldn't stop you.
Sometimes Martin would wake up at 3AM, trying to persuade you to come to bed.
Sometimes he was successful, but the other times he failed and you continued learning.
You didn't realize how much energy your effective learning took you, until now.

A large throb in your head wakes you up.
You try to continue sleeping, but the pain won't fade, it only gets worse. In the end you decide to stand up, since it's already half past six in the morning and the exam will be at 9AM.

You just don't feel like a zombie, you also look like one when you catch yourself in the bathroom mirror.
Your skin is pale, making the dark circles under your eyes pop out even more.

After brushing your teeth and refreshing yourself you try to hide your ugly reflection with some make up. You look better than before, but now you feel even sicker on the inside.

Trying to ignore your well-being, you walk to the kitchen to find Martin preparing breakfast for you two.
"Morning babe, why are you already awake?", you ask him, since he could have continued sleeping.
"I was hungry, so I thought I could make breakfast for us...oh my god, are you okay?", he asks as he turns around to look at you.
"Could feel better, but I'll be fine.", you say with a small smile and try to avoid his worried gaze. You can tell that he's worried, this is the look he only makes, if something's not alright at all.
"No you are not. Y/N, you are boiling!", he exclaims as he feels your temperature.
"Martijn, I have to write this exam or I can do everything next year again.", you whine.
"Okay, sit down and eat something. I'll get you some medicine and then we will figure out how to go on.", he tells calmly and leaves the kitchen.

Exhausted you sit on a chair and burry your head in your hands, you just wish that this morning will pass soon.
Somehow you motivate yourself to eat a toast, at least Martin won't force you then to eat something.
"I found this in the cupboard. This should help you.", Martin says and gives you Paracetamol.
After finishing your breakfast you drink the medicine and lean back, lost in your thoughts about the exam.

It's close to 8, the exam would start in one hour. Luckily the medicine shows its effect now and you somewhat feel better.
"I am going now.", you tell Martin and get your bag.
"I can drive you.", he insists and is about to grab his keys, but you stop him.
"You really don't have to do this on your own. I want to help you.", he says, his voice sounding more serious than ever before.
"I really appreciate that, but I'll be fine. You don't have to drive me, it's not that far away.", you explain, trying to convince him that you can do it on your own.
It remains silent for a while, Martin just looks at you and in the end lets out a sigh.
"Okay, but call me, if you need me.", he tells.
"Okay.", you simply say and turn around to unlock the door.
"Good luck, Y/N.", Martin says and hugs you.
"Thank you babe.", you reply and leave the house, it's about that time.

Three hours. They can pass quickly, but they can feel like an eternity.
After three hours of just asking yourself, why you are doing this to yourself, you finally hand your exam to a woman over, who had to control that nobody is able to cheat during the exam.

The first two hours you were feeling great and you were able to answer every question, but suddenly you felt your vision getting blurry and everything taking over you. It was only one hour, but the worst hour you could have imagined. Still you somehow managed to get through it.

After giving your exam to the lady you walk out of the builing and sit down on a bench, inhaling the fresh air deep in your lungs.
Suddenly you hear your mobile phone ringing, it's Martin.

M-"Hey is the exam finished?"
Y-"Yeah, just now.", you exhale as the relief starts setting in.
M-"Are you still at university?"
Y-"Yeah, but I was about to go home now."
M-"Wait, stay where you are. I'll pick you up."
Y-"Martijn, you don't have to..."
M-"No, stop. I'll be there in 10 minutes.", he says and hangs up.

A sigh makes its way up, he can be so stubborn, but this time you're happy about him being protective and caring.
Not even ten minutes passed and you hear a loud honk coming from the street. You raise your head to see Martin in his black BMW.
Smiling you get up and walk to the car.
"You are too caring.", you state.
"I am not. It's just obvious that you are feeling like shit and I also feel bad if you feel bad.", he says giving you a concerned look.
Your heart melts at his words, he is simply adorable.
"Thank you.", you whisper and close your eyes, drifting off.

"Hey, Y/N. Wake up.", Martin's voice echoes in your head. Your eyes flutter open, the first thing you behold is Martin's face.
"Martijn?", you mumble.
"We are at home. Can you stand up?", he asks you and helps you from the seat up.
A dizzy feeling in your head almost makes you fall, but Martin catches you and starts carrying you in the bridal style to your home.
You lean your head on Martin's chest, inhaling the sweet smell of cinnamon.

When you come home you quickly change into a comfy pair of pants and a maxi shirt and cover yourself with the warm sheets of your bed. You close your eyes trying to fall asleep, but you hear a knock on the door and Martin comes in the room with a cup of tea with honey.

"Drink this. You will feel better.", he says trying to cheer you up. Thanking you take the cup and take a sip of the tea, which tastes really good.
You watch Martin putting his hand on your forehead, shaking his head in concern.
"Is there anything I can do for you?", Martin wonders.
"Will you cuddle with me?", you ask him begging.
"Sure.", he climbs on the other side of the bed and puts an arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to him. Your head is leaning on Martin's chest, listening to the peaceful sound of his heartbeat.
"How was the exam anyway? Did you slay it?", he questions raising an eyebrow, making you laugh silently.
"I hope so. No seriously, it was quite good. I hope that I will pass it.", you whisper and close your eyes.
"You should pass it. If somebody deserves it, it's you.", he replies, stroking some strands of your hair, that fall in your face, away.

You two just lay in bed, you on Martin's chest. The sound of his heartbeat hypnotizes you and your eyelids gradually fall shut. In a moment you feel Martin covering you with a sheet, the warmth finally makes you fall asleep in Martin's arms.
