Martin's POV:

"I won't be gone for too long.", Y/N promises grabbing her purse after having put her stilettos on.
"Don't stress yourself. Just enjoy the time with your friends."
"Thanks babe. If you have any questions concerning D/N just call me.", she says pecking my lips.
"I guess I'll handle it somehow. It shouldn't be that hard.", I answer optimistic.
It's been a while that I've been taking care of our babygirl for the last time.
This is why I am looking forward to spending time with her.
"I am sure you'll handle it, daddy.", Y/N flashes me a smile before she leaves the house with a high pitched "Bye".

After the door closes I walk to D/N's bedroom to make sure she's still asleep. Getting closer to her bed I see her being in a peaceful slumber, I can't resist it but smile at the sight of my cute daughter. Silently I leave her bedroom and walk back to the living room and continue working on a song I recently started working on. This is probably the best part of my job, I can work wherever I want and whenever I want.
While I am listening to the beginning of the song I am being interrupted by the ringing of my cell phone. Pausing the song I take my phone in my hand to find Julian calling.
"Hey bro, what's up?", I answer his call.
"Hey, I am playing tonight in the Escape, do you maybe want to come?"
"I'd love to, but I can't. Y/N is not at home, so I can't leave D/N alone."
"Oh okay, maybe another time."
"Sure, it's a bit busy now. We should go for a beer soon."
"Sure, it's crazy how much has changed. How is D/N anyway?"
"She's fine, she's sleeping so I can work now. We should really go for a-", I stop talking as I hear loud cries coming from the bedroom.
"Martijn, are you still there?", Julian wonders.
"Yeah, I think D/N just woke up.", I answer as I make my way to the bedroom, her cries become louder with every step closer to the crib.
"Oh I hear it.", Julian smiles.
"Sorry, but I have to hang up."
"No problem, good luck bro."
"Thank you, I'll text you later. And good luck for your set.", I say getting closer to D/N, who's crying loudly.
"Thank you, bye bro."
"Bye.", I smile and hang up.

"Hey sweety, what's wrong?", I whisper and pick D/N up. Rocking her slowly I walk with her to the living room, trying to make her fall asleep again.
"Hush, little baby, don't say a word.
Papa's gonna buy you a mockingbird
And if that mockingbird won't sing,
Papa's gonna buy you a diamond ring.", I start singing D/N's favourite song, her cries gradually die away.
After walking through the whole flat with D/N she is finally asleep again.
Carefully I place her in the crib and cover her with a fluffy pink blanket.
"Good night, princess.", I whisper and walk to the door. Arriving at the doorframe a loud cry breaks the beautiful silence again.
"Oh princess, don't cry. Daddy is here.", I speak walking back to my daughter.
Great, here we go again.

*8:45 pm*
Your POV:
"Thanks for driving me home.", you tell to Y/Bff/N and give her a tight hug.
"No problem. It was so nice to hang out again."
"True, I really miss you and the others."
"I know. We should meet soon again.", she says giving you a smile in response.
"We really have to. You can also come to my place or we can go to the city and I will just bring D/N along."
"That's also possible. We'll keep in touch."
"Yes, I'll call you.", you promise your best friend since kindergarden.
"Okay, love you. And say hi to Martin from me."
"I will...but you can also come upstairs with me if you want."
"Sorry honey, but I have to go home and get ready. Bff's/boyfriend/N and I are going to have dinner with his parents.", she explains.
"Oh okay, have fun. Anyway I'll text you.", you say as you open the door to get out of the car.
"Okay, see you soon.", Y/Bff/N tells waving one last time before she drives away.

It's been a while that you've seen your friends for the last time. Ever since you gave birth to your daughter a lot has changed. It's not easy to find time to hang out with your friends, most of the time you have to take care of your little babygirl. Today was finally the day you could live a life like it was some months ago, when you didn't have big responsibilities and could do whatever you want to. From time to time you miss those old days, but there is nothing that could give more happiness to you than Martin and your cute daughter.
Happily you walk the stairs up, still thinking about all the jokes and stories your friends told you, you unlock the door and enter your modern flat.

"Hey hey, I am back.", you announce happily as you get in the hallway. Instead of hearing your husband greeting you or coming to you it remains silent.
"Baby, are you at home?", you call out, but don't receive an answer.
Thinking that he is probably working in his home studio you make your way to your daughter's room to check, if she's sleeping.
To your surprise you don't find your daughter in her bedroom. Confused you leave the babyroom, thinking about where your husband and your babygirl might be.
Your heart melts as you finally spot Martin with your daughter on the couch in the living room, both in a peaceful slumber.
Smiling you take a blanket and tuck both in.

"Good night darling, I love you.", you whisper planting a kiss on your daughter's soft cheek.
"And you too, big daddy.", you smile pecking Martin's lips.
You know that it's hard to take care of a newborn baby, it takes a lot of time and it is more tiring than anything else. Still you don't want a different life, you just got to know what real happiness is. Starting a family with someone you love is real happiness. It might be hard, but you know that you're going to make it with Martin.
