Today's finally the day.
You and Martin have been engaged for one year, to the anniversary of your engagement you will finally marry the person you have been dreaming of for years.

Your POV:
Nervously you chew the straw of your coke. There have been many situations in life that made you feel anxious.
At your graduation, driving test or first job interview you most wanted to run away, but nothing compares to this situation right now.

All the time you were happy and couldn't wait to let the wedding come. Proudly you showed everyone your engagement ring, it's the most valuable thing you own.
Not only by the price, also by its meaning.

"You seem to be very nervous. Just relax, everything will turn out well.", your best friend says massaging your shoulders.
"Do you think Martijn will like the dress?", you play with the straw, almost spilling the coke out.
"Hell yeah. Y/N, you look gorgeous. He will only stare at you. And stop playing with the coke or do you want to ruin your dress?"
"No, of course not.", you say immediately letting go of the coke.

"Hey darling. Oh my godness. You look beautiful!", Martin's mother exclaims as she opens the door and enters it.
"Thank you, I hope your son will like it too.", you tell shyly.
"Now I see that you are definitely the right one for him. You know sometimes it's hard to see your own child growing up so quickly, it feels like yesterday that he was my little baby. But I am happy to see him being so happy with you. There's nothing a mother could wish for more.", she says trying to hold back her emotions.
Hearing Martin's mother saying these emotional words makes you trap into thoughts about your childhood and your family.
You were a happy child, your parents supported you in everything.
Looking back to the old times makes you realize how grateful you are, that you have such parents.
Unwillingly tears start forming in your eyes. I haven't seen Martijn yet and I am already close to crying. Y/N, pull yourself together!

As the time flies the relaxing atmosphere vanishes and excitement takes over your friends, especially you.
"Y/N, we have to go now. See you soon.", your best friend says and hugs you.
"Thank you girls. You are the prettiest bridesmaids I can think of.", you tell to your friends and hug them.
You watch your girls standing in line, starting to leave the room in their beautiful long golden-cream coloured dresses.

"We are going now too.", your mother says and gives you a kiss on your cheek.
"Okay-", you swallow the lump in your throat, it feels like you could burst out in tears immediately.
"You are so gorgeus. I can't wait to see you standing there with my son.", Martin's mother tells and hugs you.
Trying not to cry you quickly pull out of the hug and walk to the mirror to look at yourself.
Your beautiful white dress falls perfectly, it's the dress you've been dreaming of ever since you've been a child. When you were a little girl you used to point at the wedding gowns you like and tell your mom, that one day you will be wearing such dress. Today is finally the day your dreams turn to reality.
The imaginations become real.

Finally the moment has come.
The moment you have been awaiting the whole morning long.
So Y/N, say goodbye to Y/L/N.
You throw one last glance at the mirror, smiling you look at yourself.

Confident, but a little bit agitated you open the door to spot your dad.
His eyes immediately lay on you, you can see the pride rising inside of him.
Everybody's attention is focused on you as you step in the fancy decorated room. Nervously you walk to your dad, who waits at the begging of the trail.
Reaching him he quickly wipes the tears away, that formed in his eyes.
"You are so pretty. You've always been my princess and you'll always be.", he says quietly and begins to walk you down the aisle.
"I love you daddy.", you whisper latching onto his arm.
Focusing on the music you try to forget about your excitement and mixed emotions, somehow it works.
It feels like an eternity walking with your father the way down to your future husband.
Though you try to think about something else, the only person you can see is Martin.
A beautiful black suit lets him be the most handsome man in the whole room.
The most beautiful man you've ever met in your life. Your man.
