The truck was silent other than the annoying GPS giving directions. I am terrible at giving directions so I put my address in the GPS. I probably should have gotten to know Derek a little better before getting in his truck. Although my crazy over protective foster mother said it was okay. She was too busy focused on her meat factory paper work to get me anyways. Just the usual day-to-day occurrence. Derek was lost in his thoughts as he drove down the highway. The windows were down as Derek sped down the highway.
"So...Derek? What's your darkest secret?" I turned towards him awaiting eagerly for his response.
"It wouldn't be a secret if I told you. Now would it?" Derek smirked elbowing me.
"No it wouldn't but, do you trust me?" I pushed for an answer.
A broad smile stretched across Derek's face. "Yeah I trust you but, sometimes secrets are better off staying secrets."
"I thought you said you trusted me?" I raised an eye brow and crossed my arms.
"I do trust you Alex but, I am still not telling." Derek's laughed radiated through out the truck.
"Oh come on! Tell me!" I shook his arm.
"Maybe." He winked with a sheepish grin.
"Fine. Mr. Stubborn I'll drop it." I laughingly nudged his shoulder.
"Speak for your self!" Pointing me up and down, Derek tried to focus on driving.
"Don't act all innocent! Your the stubborn one!"
Derek turned the wheel and looked at me. "Oh I'm the stubborn one? Aren't you the one that tried to get me to share my darkest secret?"
"Whatever." I laughed looking out the window. "Just so you know I am not stubborn all the time."
"No never." Derek sarcastically retorted.
A sly smiled peeled across Derek's face. Gripping the steering wheel tighter he turned into my driveway. His bulging biceps distracted me from his eyes.
"Really?" My face went blank as I gave him an unamused smile.
"Yes really. Are you always this stubborn?" Derek laughed
Biting my lips I softly spoke. "Maybe."
The truck came to a stop and I realized we were in my drive way.

"Well this is my house." I shrugged and grabbed my bag.
I looked over at Derek as color drained from his face.
"Hey wait!" he grabbed my bag.
"yeah?" I shook my head and smiled.
"Do your parents work at the meat factory?" Derek looked at my moms meat truck.
"Yeah I mean they own the meat factory." I laughed it off trying not to acting creeped out.
"Oh! That's cool! My family works their too!"
