Chapter 10: Mistakes

Derek's Pov ----
I looked around the room for Alex. I know she has this class. She should be here already. Then I saw Brett getting his materials out.

"Hey, Brett, you're in this class?"

His smile grew wider." Well hey Derek and Yeah I do. Maybe if you checked your text more often you'd see I texted you my schedule. "

I tapped my pencil something just wasn't right. Alex should be here already. I watched as people entered the classroom. I scanned each face hoping to catch her.

"Hey Brett umm . . . Have you by any chance seen Alex on the way here? " I scratched my head.

Sweat began to pour from my hands and forehead. I hated this eerie feeling in my stomach.

Brett raised a brow."No, the last I saw her was lunch." 

Okay, now I'm worried then I saw aria walk in the classroom. She smirked at me and then blew a kiss. She slapped her big expensive purse around like she owned the school. She sat down behind me and the rest of her crew sat with her.

I turned around slowly and whispered."Hey, aria have you seen the new girl?"

"Nope not at all! I think I'd remember if that hoe walked near me." She smiled sheepishly and grabbed my hand. "You know I miss this. Don't you remember all the fun we had last summer in your truck. Then at the pool I just loved it all."

"Aria get the hell off me! It's not going to happen! If you ever call her that again I will crush your wind pipe  with my bare hand. So then you'll sound like a squeaky little dog." I grabbed her hand and threw it off me.

Then the late bell rang and still no Alex. I knew what happened now. It starts with the letter A. It's four letters and ends with the letter A.

"Aria what did you do!" I snarled.

"What didn't I do?" She laughed eerily.

My stomach dropped and began to twist. My heart was racing against my chest. The thought of Alex ever being in harms way physically hurt me. My arm shot up in the air for the teacher to see. Mr. Bush was writting on the board.

Mr. Bush then turned around and saw me."Yes Derek? "

"May I be excused? I think I'm going to be sick!" I cradled my stomach.

"Yes you may and take the pass! Quickly now! I rather my rugs stay vomit free! " He shouted.

Mr.Bush was weird like that. That man loves him some rugs. There are so many of them.

I wrote a pass quickly and casually walked out the door. I checked the closest bathroom which was C hall. Nope she's not there then I checked A hall and then B hall.  She wasn't in either of those.  I walked into the bathroom that smelled like lavender. I checked every stall she wasn't in. I was beginning to worry even more. There was one more bathroom to check because she wouldn't be in the V hall bathroom. I walked into the girls bathroom on F hall and heard sniffling.

"Alex." I said softly.

"Go away! I don't want to talk to you! " she cried. 

"Alex please here me out. I'm begging you!" I asked softly.

My heart was breaking but my anger was about to boil over.

"No! You are cheating on that girl! Your. . . A . . Uh-cheater! " I could hear the tears slowly slipping off her cheeks and hitting the tile.

"What girl? Aria? I'm not dating anyone! Especially not her! Aria is a lying coniving snake!" I explained.

Alex snapped."Don't lie to me! I don't even want to hear your excuses!"

"Alex I'm not freaking lying! Aria and me dated last summer and I hated it! I was miserable! Do you honestly think I'd date a girl who made my life a living hell. She still does it and this is a good example of what type of person she is." I gritted my teeth.

How could Aria do this! She disgraced me! She has hurt too many people. This has got to end! After a minute or so She opened the stall. Alex's nose was busted and so was her lip. They were both bleeding. Her cheek was swollen and tears were stained on her cheeks. Tears still formed in her eyes when she saw me. Alex then hid her face and tried to walk pass me. I grabbed her arms and held her.

" Alex! Look at me!" I shouted I felt my blood beginning to boil underneath my skin.

It made my flesh hot to the touch. More sweat began to pour and I've never felt this angry before. I sensed the change coming on but I couldn't stop myself. I am too far gone to stop.
I then smelled fear a over bearing amount of fear stunk up the room. I then noticed it was Alex. She was looking right at my eyes. Tears fell from her face and he lip quivered.

"What are you?" Alex started hyperventilating.

"Alex listen to me! You need to calm down!" I shouted and shook her arms.

Her arms went weak and she cringed at the sight of me.

"Let me go!" She chocked.

She started to try and fight. I wanted her to stop its only fueling my blood lust.

"Alex!" I demanded.

"I said let me go! " Alex trembled.

"I will just don't run!" My voice grew deeper.

I slowly released my hands and then I noticed my claws. I hid them behind my back hoping she didn't see. She then recoiled to the wall. Alex put her hands down beside her and gripped the wall.

"Alex please what do you want me to do?" I begged a part of me still wanted for her.

"Tell me what you are? You aren't human! The things you do with your eyes and your strength no human can do. Then there are your hands you just hid them. So what are you?" She cowered.

He let out a sigh."I can't tell you."

"Let me leave!" She blustered at me.

"I can't do that!" I felt the rage inside start to grow.

"Let's at least get out of this bathroom!" She slapped her legs.

"Okay fine!" I moved to the side a bit so she could get through.

Alex then bolted out into the hallway. 

"Alex! Alex! Please, look I'm sorry. Remember how I said some secrets are better off being secrets this is one of those secrets." I pleaded with her.

I ran after her and the hallway was empty and she was running for the double doors.

"Alex!" I shouted.

My vision blurred and then all I could see was red. I was changing and I had to much anger to try and stop it. Alex then looked at me and ran faster. She wasn't paying attention and ran into the metal pole between the double doors. She then fell listlessly to the floor.

"Alex! Alex!" I shouted and ran to her side.

I quickly checked to see if she was still breathing. She was still breathing and I then snatched her up gently. I then took her outside I was careful that no one was around. Luckily that hall was at lunch. I carried her to my truck and buckled her in.
