Derek's pov~
I opened my door slowly and found alex on my bed asleep and paritally uncovered. I pulled the soft cover over her motionless body and laid beside her. A few minutes go by before I finally shut my eyes. Suddenly alex violently jump and woke me up and I looked over to her as she gasped for air. Tears sat freshly in her eyes and I rubbed my hand across her back to try and comfort her and she sobbed in her hands

"Come here!" I pulled her in a tight long hug.

She gribbed me tighter and sobbed in my chest. I rubbed her soft hair which was now in a mess. Her tears began to soften and her cries became much less.

I looked down at her and softly asked her. "What's wrong?"

She leaned up from my chest and wiped her eyes."I had a nightmare about you being killed and it was all my fault. I had the dream because I didn't take my medication and I need to take It I forgot last night."

I Jumped up before she could move."I'll get them! Where Is It?"

"In my purse."She sniffled.

I grabbed the small pill bottle out of her purse and I noticed the label. I was trying to find out what the medicine was prescribed to do.

aconitum oxide? Where have I heard that from?

I looked up and her and back to the bottle."Alex what is this? and what's does It do?"

"It's more like a sedtive for my nightmares and it helps with pain as well-my foster mom gave it to me." she said softly.

I opened the bottle and smelled it and all of the sudden I felt as if all the air had been sucked out of my body. I violently started coughing and sneezing I felt as if I had a plastic bag as a lung. I only ever felt this when-then it hit me wolfsbane.

"Alex-This is wolfsbane!"I Said quickly,

"How do you know that?" She looked sternly at the bottle.

"Because I'm coughing sneezing plus wolfsbane is an aconite! wonder why you couldn't shift that's why!" I slapped my hands on my thigs.

"How did I take this all the time and I had no effects?" She asked.

I sat next to her and grabbed her hands." Look, I think that you built up some kind of immunity to it and the nightmares were caused because of the medicine. You were only getting worse the medicine would have eventually killed you slowly but surely. I'm sorry that you had to find out this way."

"Well I'm not sad, If you would have never told me I would have never known." She sighed.

She could not hide all the pain I see behind those eyes and that quick little smile she does. The foster parents she had abused her in every way possible they drugged her, beat her, Isolated her. When I think about all the damage that she received makes me sick to my stomach. The room settled on silence I don't know what is worse the silence or the screaming of her unsettled demons.

"Hey are you up for some swimming?" Alex said smiling and waving her bathing suit around.

I stood up to meet her. "Yeah! That sounds about perfect right now."

I grabbed her chin and pulled her in for a kiss.

"If your going swimming you better put on your bathing suit." She smiled.

"Alright you go in the bathroom and put yours on and I'll stay out here." I plopped down on my bed.

"Okay."She said.

Alex then walked into the bathroom and shut the door. I quickly put on my blue swim shorts and opened the last drawer of my dresser and found the two big bottles of whiskey I hid from my parents. I noticed Alex was taking a little longer than I expected.
