DIANA'S POV

The TV was playing a rerun of Twilight and I was eating  a bowl of popcorn--completely bored.

I checked my phone for the nth time and sighed. I wish magically, something would come up and I would have a reason to get out of the boring hotel.

I wished I thought about somethong else because magically, just like that, my phone began to ring. I rushed up to it, reading the caller.

Oh, would you look at that. It was Bat Eddins. Hmm. Interesting but odd. "Diana speaking." I popped popcorn in my mouth.

"Hello?" a worried Bat whispered behind the phone. "Can you hear me?" His voice cracked in fear.

I straightened up, my brows raising up in sudden interest. What made the cold hearted Bat so worried? "Okay, what's going on?"

I heard cracking. There was loud music booming and people whooping so I assumed he was in a club. I had no idea why he was whispering in a club. "I'm intrigued, Bat. Go on."

I think he went outside because the voices were quieted. "It's her." He spoke out. "I called Kingsley so he is coming over now to help me. Holland, It's scaring me. Shit. Help me! I don't know, since you are a girl you might have that weird girl intuition."

"Okay, geez. Calm down. Where are you? Who is 'her'?" I climbed off my bed and turned off the TV. Better get my jacket on. "Tell me."

"I don't know if you remember but I kind of mentioned that I have a bond mate and I've been being an ass and neglecting her for years..." He huffed. "And now, I feel like she is close and she is not happy."

Wait, this sounded very familiar. I felt like I've had the same problem with my best friend.

Suddenly, I had a bright revelation. Could it be that Bruce "Bat" Eddins bonded to my best friend?

My mouth was open and smiling. "Okay, text me the address."

It was midnight and freezing. I took a taxi to the club. When I got there, I instantly found Bat sitting by the curbside with his feet tapping in stress.

I stopped and observed his reactions for a while. I tilted my head to the side and tried to see him. Am I dreaming? The confident hot fool was fretting to meet a girl of his life? He fought and hunted for danger and to look at it...he was afraid of a girl. Ha! I couldn't believe my eyes so I burst out laughing at him.

He looked up, his eyes--instant slits. "Okay, this is a clear mistake." He spat. Nevertheless, Bat stood up to greet me with a hug.

A hug that he didn't let go. I budged his hands away but they were firm. "Whoa, this girl really did trip you up." I smiled mysteriously.

"Are you bonded?" his brows creased. It sounded like he was asking me if I was in love because it was like that, a bond, it was eternal love for eternal people.

"No. I'm not anchored." And thank you, Queen Haven,  for not tying me down to a person. "Let's start over. What were you doing and how you felt her." We began walking away from the club. "Could she still be in there?"

He shrugged. "I dunno. I freaked out."

He really was serious about this.

"I was dancing with this girl. We were drinking beer and having a great time when I just felt this pulse in my skin. I didn't know what it was but after a while it hit me that it was from the bond. It was calling me and my heart was begging me to find her. Oddly, I didn't see her come for me so I'm assuming she was busy." His glassy grey eyes darkened a notch. He probably was thinking about what she was doing...physically. Hmm. "I didn't take a chance so I left."
