BRENDA'S POV

Every day of the week, all the "new breeds" as everyone liked to call it, met up at a room in the Coven House. Edith Famore, the teacher, had especially came from France to teach these lessons.

And today's lesson was interesting, like every lesson she has taught. It was about the history of their fall. The Great Fall. Although she tried to remain calm about these fascinating topics (many people were not a fan of the history parts), she couldn't  believe that she was a vampire.

A vampire.

Brenda had started seeing the changes on her body. Her features has enhanced in a way that she hadn't noticed before. Her eyes have gotten more vibrant if that was possible and her skin had a glow. Also she found this endless energy in her. And it was evident in her walk, the way she commanded attention. Not like Stella, or Amy, but a profound respect towards her part.

She drifted back to reality, trying to keep up with Edith.

"Our history is a complicated one, the only thing I can give you is guidance, the rest is on your own to learn." She cleared her throat. "As discussed before, The Queen of Safe Haven--Queen Haven--protects us. She has sent us to this world because of our choices back home. Some people think we are cursed but I'd like to think that she wanted to protect us from the evil that was corrupting our lands. She wanted to save us from the burning fire of Blood Caves. The dark side of our world."

Brenda was hearing  squeaky pencil marks by her side. She looked over, only to see Thomas, the guy who was one of the smart, invisible, and geeky guys of Adison. It was only plausible for him to take notes while everyone was dozing off slowly. Brenda sighed as she tried to ignore his moving hand. Some of the students walked out of the classroom.

Then she realized that the class was over.

On the corner of her eye, she caught something, Edith had left the door propped open. And there was someone by the bookshelves. He turned around, in time, meeting Brenda's eyes and locking his green eyes with hers.

Jake Stanley.

Brenda smiled and looked away, feeling dizzy all of the sudden. She has only known him, no, talked to him for a couple of times and yet, she felt starstruck every time. And he waved at her. Jake pointed to his watch, telling her through movements that he was waiting for her.

Brenda nodded, dumbstruck. Her heart exploded in wonder and suddenly she couldn't wait for meet with him.

Thomas, stayed behind, catching Edith's sight and approaching towards her to ask her more questions about the history. He's been doing that every single day, and frankly, Edith was getting annoyed, slowly.

She looked out and realized that Jake has disappeared.

Brenda walked out, her blue skirt dragging down on the floor, her eyes darting to every blond head in sight.

Finally, she found Jake, leaning against the bookshelf. Only not alone. He was sitting by the new girl, Diana. And he was smiling, laughing along with her. Brenda hid between shelves trying to pry her ears to listen to their conversation. She couldn't help but hate her for a second, if Diana wasn't there, Jake would by her side. Brenda's side.

But maybe Jake had actually came to see Diana and not her.

Why am I acting like I'm his girlfriend?

Brenda leaned closer, but she could not make out anything. So only thing she was capable was to do some lip reading. Jake was grinning at Diana. But Diana shrugged only to look away, a blush creeping up her cheeks. Brenda snuck in to the shelves deeper, afraid that she would be caught.
