Ben, Elise, Jordan and I joined a group at a nearby quarry after the destruction of Atlanta. The quarry was seemingly the perfect place to be... It was so safe and there were very nice people. I saw the woman who gave me the food and water. Her name was Lori. She had a son, Carl, and a boyfriend, Shane. Shane was a former cop. There was also Amy and Andrea who were sisters that lived with Dale, who watched for danger. Then there was T-Dog and Jacqui who were married but hardly spoke. Then their was Carol and Sophia. Sophia was a sweet girl just like her mother. There was also Morales and his wife Miranda and their kids, Eliza and Louis. Then there was Daryl and Merle Dixon. The two most racist and sexist people I know. Then lastly there was the Korean boy... Glenn. He was also the youngest adult in the group. He is the one who usually makes runs into Atlanta for extra supplies. Of all people, Amy really stood out to me. She reminded me a lot of Elise. Elise made good friends with Jordan, Sophia, Eliza and Amy since the apocalypse started. Me? I made good friends with Jordan, Louis, Sophia, Amy and kinda Carl. Jordan and I sat at a picnic table eating breakfast while Shane and a few others talked.

"Sorry to bring this up but I was just wondering... Are both of your parents dead?" I ask.

"I'm not sure. My mom was one of the walkers chasing me but im not sure about the other two." Jordan replied.

I nodded and took a bite of toast.

"What about your parents?" She asked me.

"I don't know. They never came home from work and I was forced to leave my house." I stated.

"Oh."

I finished my breakfast and walked over to the small group.

"What's going on?" I ask.

"T-Dog, Andrea, Glenn, Morales, Jacqui and Merle volunteered to go to Atlanta for supplies." Shane said.

"Can I go?"

"Absolutely not! Your too young to enter the city." Andrea said quite harshly.

"Why not? He's got all you to look after him." Shane stated.

"To have all of you with him, I'd say he's in good hands." Dale added.

"I'll watch him." Glenn volunteered.

So it was settled. I was going into the city. We traveled on foot into the city. The silence of the city astonished me. It made me think about how it was before all this happened... Sounds of traffic and the smell of food would have filled the air.

"Let's go into that department store." T-Dog said.

We entered and looked at racks of clothing. I packed some in a bag while others looked around. Then I heard nothing... They must have went to the roof. I rolled my eyes then the sound of gunfire echoed through the streets. I ran up a staircase and found the group on the roof.

"What the hell is going on out there?" Jacqui asked.

Merle looked through the sight of his hunting rifle and took it away.

"Some idiot is down there poppin' off rounds." Merle observed.

"What's happening now?" Andrea asked him.

"Just hopped into a tank." Merle said.

"I'll go get him." Glenn said.

"What?" Morales demanded.

"We can't just leave him!" Glenn stated.

"I'll go with you." I say to Glenn.

Glenn and I ran downstairs. The group followed accept Merle. We ran out onto the street as a horde came at us. But then they saw the group in the store and went there. Before the walkers could get in, they closed both sets of the doors.

"Come on!" Glenn shouted in my ear.

We rushed into an ally before any more walkers saw us. He pulled out a radio and spoke through it, telling the guy in the tank what to do. Then I heard gunfire again. Suddenly, a guy in a police uniform came.

"Come on! Come on, let's go!" Glenn told him.

We went to a ladder that went up a building. I went first... Then Glenn then the man. By the time we got to the roof, walkers crowded at the bottom of the ladder.

"What's your name?" I ask the man.

"Rick. Rick Grimes." He said.

Glenn and I both nod and continue crossing over buildings. We went down a staircase and through a door where we met the group again. Andrea shoved her gun into his face out of sheer anger.

"What the hell were you doing out there?" Andrea demanded.

"Andrea! Back off!" Morales ordered.

"Were dead... All of us." Andrea mumbled.

"Why?" Rick wondered.

We went back to the entrance to see about fifty walkers pounding against the glass doors. Their fists smashed through the first set of doors and stepped over the shattered glass and then thrashed against the last set of doors.

"Oh god." Jacqui muttered.

Then more gunfire was unleashed into the city.

"Oh hell, is that Dixon?" Andrea moaned, already knowing the answer.

We quickly rushed up to the roof to Merle.

"Come on! Were leaving!" I shouted.

Now we ran back down. We looked back at the walkers that bashed against the glass. Suddenly, T-Dog came running to us from a door.

"Guys! Hurry! There's a truck out back with keys and everything!"

We followed him to the truck. Most of us went into the back compartment while Morales drove us back to the quarry. Upon our return, everybody crowded around.

"Hey, police man. Come on out."

Rick came out... I saw the look on Lori's face...

"Dad!" Carl cried.

He ran into Rick's arms with glee. Rick appeared to be crying. Finally, Lori ran to Rick. I looked away to see Elise... But she was not here. I felt panic rush through me. I turned the corner and saw Elise... And Ben... Lips against lips. I felt my heart snap.
