I stood atop the RV with Dale. Yeah, he was old but he was a nice guy. He sat in a chair with an umbrella hiding him from the intensely hot sun. I just sat beside him.
"Tell me again how you lost your wife." I say.
"It was cancer. I dragged her to every hospital and... She accepted it, ya know." Dale said for about the sixth time.
"I'm sorry."
"No, it's fine. At least she doesn't have to see what the world has become." Dale said with pity.
I nod. Suddenly, a horrific scream pierced my ears.
"Elise!" I shouted.
I jumped down from the RV and ran into the forest where the scream came from. I found Elise staring at a walker that was eating the mangled corpse of what I used to call a deer. Rick and Shane and Glenn came with bats and began beating down the walker. It did nothing but push the walker around. Out came Dale with an axe and chopped the walkers head off. It's head yet moved but it's body lay limp.
"What is it doing here?" Shane wondered.
"They never come this far up the mountain." Dale stated.
"I think we need to leave." Rick said.
"No! We can't leave! This place is safe!" Shane snapped.
"Why don't we go to the CDC? I heard they might be working on a cure." Glenn stated.
"I told you! We aren't going." Shane said firmly.
"Come on. Let's go and set up the fire for tonight." Rick concluded.

I sat beside Elise and Jordan. On the other side of Elise was Ben. The conversations were a blur. I just stared blankly into the fire.
"I have to pee." Amy said to Andrea, then mumbled something that made the group laugh.
Jordan nudged my side and smiled. "Cheer up."
"I can't stop thinking about..." I paused. I never told her about how it all started.
"About what?" Jordan asked, expecting more.
"The walker that came up here." I said.
"Can't y'all stop thinkin' 'bout that? It's getting annoying." Daryl grumbled.
"Let's all lighten up with a tune." Merle said and snapped his fingers.
He began singing a song from the Wizard Of Oz movie. I didn't remember the name, just that I've heard it before. Suddenly, an ear-splitting scream pierced my ears. I looked to the RV where a walker devoured a chunk of Amy's neck.
"Amy!" I cry.
I quickly run over with no weapon and push it over. But it made no difference... Amy was still bit and now I had to deal with the walker. It grabbed my ankle and dragged me down. I kicked it's face and freed myself from it's clutches.
"Help!" Jordan cried.
From the blast of Rick's revolver, the walker before Jordan was killed. I looked back to Amy, who was breathing heavily. Andrea rushed over to us with, pale with fear.
"Oh god! Oh god!" Andrea repeated.
More walkers cane from the forest.
"Here!" Daryl threw me a knife.
I caught it and looked at him.
"Go for the brain!" He reminded me.
Daryl shot arrows from his crossbow into the seemingly endless horde of walkers that threatened our people. a walker went for Amy again. I plunged the knife into it's skull. I kicked the body away and put the knife through a walkers eye. Elise was running from each walker. But one grabbed a fistful of her hair and attempted to sink it's teeth into her. I kicked it away and finished it off. But now we were surrounded. Bullets entered their skulls and Shane yelled, "Get as far away from this place as you can!"
I grabbed Elise's arm and led her into the forest. Ben and Jordan were right behind us. It almost seemed that the trees themselves had hands and tried to grab us as we fled. We swiftly dodged the arms of walkers and ran. We ran down the mountain and away from Atlanta and the quarry. The deceased followed us. But we may be able to lose them by outrunning them.

We ran for about a full day. The sun was, again, setting. We were starving and parched. I'm not sure how long we will last. We reached a small town that I did not know the name of.
"Search some of the houses for food and water. There's got to be some here." I order.
I turned the knob of a door and it did not budge. So I raised my foot and destroyed it.
"Daddy!" A boy cried.
A man came running down the staircase in front of me with a rifle shoved in my face.
"What are you doing here?" He demanded once he realised I was alive.
"My friends and I are hungry and thirsty. Can you please help us?" I plead.
The man set his gun aside and picked up his door.
"Get this boy and his friends some food and water." He told the boy.
The boy ran into the kitchen as Ben, Elise and Jordan came in. The boy handed us each a large carrot and liquid that I thought may be pond water.
"Thank you." We all said to the man and boy.
"So what are you doing here?" The man asked us.
"A man from our group told us to run to safety." Elise said.
"We just happened to come here." Ben added.
"Where is your group?" The man asked.
"At some quarry." Jordan said.
The man nodded and watched us finish off our carrots.
"Whats your names?" I ask them.
"I'm Morgan, and this is my boy, Dwayne." The man said.
"Well, thank you for the food but we should probably get going." I say.
"Where you headed?" Morgan asked.
"We don't really know." Ben stated.
"Well, here. You'll find it easier to kill with. And you'll find that not all survivors are as friendly as they seem." Morgan handed me a pistol.
"Thank you, again." I said.
"Bye, bye!" Dwayne concluded.
