Zane, Vylad and Michi fell from their portal into a clearing, right on top of each other.

The moment they untangled themselves, Michi cast an illusion spell on the whole group.

"Nrut na pmi otni a Aw'fiem dna snomed otni slatrom!"

"What did you just do?" Zane asked, unable to see his wings.

"Relax. Here, put this on. It'll let you see through all of my illusions." Michi said, handing Zane and Vylad each a small necklace. After putting it on, both princes were delighted to be able to see their wings, as well as see through the Meif'wa illusion Michi had cast upon herself.

"So... now what?" Zane asked.

"Shouldn't you be in charge?" Vylad pointed out.

"It was Michi's idea. She should be in charge." Zane replied.

"I'm right here." Michi said. "And I was thinking Zane should be in charge."

Zane sighed. "Okay." He mumbled before taking off into the sky. Michi's illusion stayed on the ground. After Zane came back down he said, "Past this forest is a mountain, with a village next to it. We should probably go there first."

Vylad and Michi both nodded.

The trio of runaways began to trek through the forest, and it wasn't long before they reached the village at the foot of the mountain.

After buying some clothes, they looked for an inn. While they were looking, Vylad found a poster, advertising a reward. He brought it to town square, where he met up with Zane and Michi.

"Look at this! 2,000 GN! If my math is correct, that'll yield us twenty-four blocks, six ingots, and two nuggets

"Look at this! 2,000 GN! If my math is correct, that'll yield us twenty-four blocks, six ingots, and two nuggets." Vylad said, excitedly waving the poster in front of Zane and Michi. After a quick discussion, they decided to at least check it out.

At the Pugly Inn, the trio went up to the second floor and knocked on the door to Room #203.

"Come in."

Zane, Vylad and Michi went inside. The room was pretty plain, with a single bed, a bathroom, a closet, a window and a bookcase. Sitting on a patch of sunlit carpet by the bookcase was a small girl, reading a very large book. She glance up once, then said, "I take it you're here about the poster."

"Are you the client?" Michi asked, getting down on her knees. The girl nodded.

"So what's this task you need us to do?" Zane asked.

The girl looked up at him. "I'm Oliva. I used to live in the mountains. Then, my village was attacked and destroyed. I'm the only survivor."

"I want to go back up their and rebuild, but the bandits that attacked my village still lurk up there, ambushing travelers. I want you to bring the group to the prison here in town. Alive." Oliva looked back down at her book.

Zane, Michi and Vylad all agreed to the task and set off towards the mountain.

After trekking up the mountain for a few hours, the trio set down to make camp in a clearing. Spruce trees surrounded them on all sides. After eating, they all sat and watched the stars.

"The sky here's really pretty, isn't it?" Michi asked.

"Yeah. It's almost like diamonds against obsidian." Zane agreed.

"The moon looks really pretty, wouldn't you agree?" Vylad said.

The moon did indeed look pretty. A crescent shape, almost like the sky was winking at them, telling them not to worry. After staring at the sky for a little while longer, Zane and Vylad agreed Michi should have first watch, then promptly fell asleep.

Michi stared out into the darkness. Big, hulking forms began to take shape around the clearing. Michi tried to scream, but a hand was held over her mouth. Another hand wrapped around her waist, and Michi could only watch in horror as bandits rushed into the camp and bound Zane and Vylad with heavy rope.

Michi kicked and lashed her tail, but to no avail. The head bandit was a huge behemoth of a man, and he held Michi tight.

The head bandit dropped Michi, who scrambled up, only to be pushed back down. One of the bandits lit a torch, and now Michi could see her foes. Big hairy trolls, so brutish and ugly that they hardly deserved to be called "men."

The head bandit leaned in real close, and Michi tried to back away, but he grabbed her jaw and inspected her face. He grabbed some of her hair and examined it.

The head bandit smiled a very nasty smile, and with one hand, grabbed Michi's waist and hoisted her in the air. She kicked as hard as she could, but it was futile.

"So whatcha gonna do now, boss?" One of the bandits asked.

"That girl's might prit'. You gonna keep 'er, Tarik?" Another bandit asked.

The head bandit smiled again, then brought Michi in close and said, "You're mine."

"Kitty."
