Aphmau stared up at the night sky. The smiling half-moon and the stars all seemed to weave together into one big piece of art.

"This is certainly different." Katelyn remarked.

"It's not the same as the Aether's second sun, that's for sure." Emmalyn said, going through a book she found in town. "It says here that Luna, the moon (Our moon's name is Luna for those of you that didn't know.), spins around the world, and Luna's revolutions around this planet causes us to see it at different angles, and that's what the moon phases are."

Aphmau looked up at the starry sky. The mortals got to look at this every night. "If it weren't for the second sun, we'd probably see stars, too."

"The sun is a star. Every sun is a star. Planets revolve around the stars, forming a solar system. Angels do get to see stars!" Emmalyn said, sounding slightly annoyed.

"You know what I mean." Aphmau said. Emmalyn growled.

After staring at and discussing the stars for a little while longer, the three angels nodded off to sleep. Or, well, Katelyn and Emmalyn nodded off. Aphmau still had things on her mind.

The Aether is a lot warmer at night. It's kind of chilly here...

As Aphmau wrapped her wings around herself, she felt a heat wash over her body, relaxing her tensed muscles. She fell asleep, and began to dream.

The Beginning...

A world, full of life. Plants and animals played and basked in the sun, then slept under the comforting light of the moon. Mortals evolved and grew, building cities. Those cities soon became ugly concrete jungles, full of noisy monsters belching smoke and mortals rushing here and there, always in a hurry.

Then a figure, a being, carried an artifact. He carried it to an altar and placed it down. The whole world shook.

Everything began to fall apart. Quite literally. The sky was eaten up by a void, and the ground shook into pieces. The pieces fell into the void, eaten up, until one piece remained. A barren island, the concrete jungle reduced to a few towers, made of obsidian. The artifact itself split into six fragments-Light, Darkness, Day, Night, Time, Space.

Then, out of the void came something. Light and darkness, intertwined, began to form a new world, within the void. The void backed away as the sky rebuilt itself. Creatures frolicked once again, and mortals evolved once again, but they built no concrete jungles. They stayed in the little villages, playing and working.

Then six mortals arrived. They each found a fragment of the artifact. Those fragments bonded with those mortals, making them something much more divine. A being of light, a being of darkness. One of day, one of night. A being of time, and one of space.

Together, the six Divine helped to rebuild the world. But the being of light fell in love with the being of darkness. The other Divine were jealous of the darkness. They were as foolish as the mortals, forgetting neither evil nor good can be made of light or darkness alone. The darkness drifted away. The light became distant from her comrades.

In the end, the light became so fed up with everything that she decided to make her own place. The other Divine discouraged her, but the darkness encouraged her. Together, they formed a world above the clouds, a world filled with winged beings and rules.

And together, they made a world beneath the ground. A world full of monsters and chaos. The light ascended to the world above, while the darkness took the throne below. For a while, a fragile peace remained, and a twisted harmony reigned.

And the End...

But the other Divine were really peeved, extremely pissed off. So they sought to separate what must be unified-the darkness and light. Together, they mined all the diamonds and obsidian, and they used those materials to expand the void. They turned the void into the Realm Barrier. Inside the Realm Barrier, they placed a fierce creature-a dragon-and several guardians-all spindly, teleporting creatures, with black skin and a crosshair temper. They dubbed this realm the End, seeing as it was once a prosperous world, similar to their own before it got #Rekt.

And so the four realms-the sky above, the cave below, the mortal world and the realm in between-were created.

Aphmau rubbed her eyes. She had no idea what that dream meant.

She was about to get up when she noticed something. A big, soft black thing was wrapped over her, keeping her warm. She also noticed that Katelyn and Emmalyn were fast asleep, and the sun was barely rising.

Aphmau rolled around, yawning, when she saw it. The big black thing wasn't a blanket-it was a pair of wings!

Aphmau stood up. Sleeping right next to where she lay was what appeared to be a man... but mortals didn't have wings... he couldn't be an angel, his horns were too long and there was a long, black tail. With slight horror and curiosity, Aphmau realized what she was looking at.

A demon!
