Chapter 42

I instantly felt jealousy and anger build up inside me.
She cheated, caused him pain, she has no right to be here.
I straightened out my clothes and hair before walking in.
She turned to me and glared.
"Morning Brendon."
I said smiling, ignoring Sarah's stare.
"You must be Sarah." I said extending my hand. She smiled and turned her attention back to Brendon.
"Do you want anything?" She asked, moving her face to his.
"Excuse me? I don't like you being so close to him."
She flipped me off and kept talking to him.
"I miss you Brendon. Can't you see how bad I feel about cheating?"
She shook his head.
"Sarah it was nice of you to drop by but I think you should go."
I watched as she walked out the door.
"I'm sorry. I got jealous."
I said moving close to him.
"Baby, don't you worry about a thing. I was so glad you got here when you did."
I smiled and kissed him.
"How's Maddie doing in school?"
He eagerly asked.
Brendon was always involved in Maddie's life, he was the best father.
"She's doing good. She misses you, but is scared to come to the hospital."
He nodded and picked up his phone.
"They're talking about me."
I gave him a confused a look.
"People are begging for us to do interviews or something."
I nodded.
"People are worried about their beebo."
He rolled his eyes and pulled me close kissing me. His lips were as soft as ever.
The doctor came in, a smile on his face.
"We have some good news."
I looked to Brendon and back to the doctor.
"You can go home this afternoon."
I smiled and kissed Brendon.
"Thank you."
We said in unison.
"Pack your things. And when your ready you are free to go."
Brendon called Jaydon while I packed his things.
--------------AT HOME------------
Brendon sat down on the couch and turned the tv on.
I'm happy that he's okay.
I joined Brendon on the couch, we watched a movie and cuddled, just like normal.
At 2:00 I got ready to go pick Maddie up.
"Do you wanna go?" I asked putting my shoes on.
He nodded and stood up, still a bit wobbly.
"It will be a nice surprise."

Maddie came out the car and saw he was with me.
"Daddy!" She yelled as she climbed into the car.
She couldn't stop smiling.
"I missed you pumpkin."
He said smiling, a tear forming in his eyes.
"Missed you more daddy."
She said digging through her backpack.
She pulled out a picture she drew.
It was of her, Brendon, and I.
"This is for you." She said handing it to him.
"Aww. Thank you pumpkin. I love it."
We got home and Maddie snuggled up with Brendon on the couch.
I made them lemonade and went to do laundry.
Brendon had asked my to charge his phone so i plugged it up and sat it on the bedside table.
He got a text but I went on doing laundry.
He got another
And another
And another
And another
And another
So I picked up his phone, they were from his manager.
"Hey Brendon, a lot of people are asking for you to do an interview. Are up for one tomorrow?"
I rolled my eyes.
He just got home, he needs rest.
I went downstairs to fix dinner and I told Brendon.
" I would love to do an interview, people need to know I'm coming back, Panic! will be a band again. They need to know how much I love you, Maddie, and Luke. But they can wait a week or two."
I smiled and nodded in agreement.
"They can wait."
I pulled out an onion and began cutting it.
I felt my eyes sting, then tears run down my cheek.
Brendon looked over and his smile fell.
"Babe? Why are you crying? I thought everything was going good. Is it he baby?"
I started laughing, tears still falling from my face.
"No, onions."
I said holding one up.
He chuckled and then Maddie whispered something in his ear.
"Okay, let's go."
He said standing up and taking her hand.
"We've got a secret mission to go on. See ya for dinner." He said going upstairs.
I smiled, how did I get so lucky? Brendon is a great boyfriend and father but he's also my best friend. I couldn't ask for a better person to love.
I sat down and began making a list of baby things I would need.
More blankets, bottles, a play pen, and a car seat.
I guess I was going to go shopping.
We gave most of Maddie's baby things away because Brendon and I thought we were done, we thought we didn't want any more children.
I was finishing dinner when Jaydon came home, along with him was Devin.
"Devin?!" I asked walking to him.
He nodded and pulled me into a hug.
"Hey! Nice to see ya."
I smiled and we say down.
"Where's Michaela?"
He looked down and I knew I upset him.
"I'm sorr-"
"No, it's fine."
"We split up, she left me for someone that offered her a record deal."
"Oh. I'm terribly sorry."
He just shook it off and continued the conversation.
Brendon soon came down. The boy's all decided to watch basketball and have a beer. I went up to find Maddie.
Her and Brendon had made a fort in her room.
"Look mommy!" She said pointing to the room.
Blankets and pillows were everywhere.
"It looks so cool!"
I knew I would be cleaning this up tomorrow.

Brendon offered to do dishes while I took Maddie to get ready for bed.
Devin was going to stay and sleep on the couch in Jaydon's room.
Maddie played in her fort until Brendon came to tuck her in.
I stood by the doorway and watched.
"Goodnight pumpkin. See you in the morning."
"Goodnight daddy. Love you."
"Love you too. Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite."
She laughed as he kissed her cheek.
"Goodnight."
He turned around and smiled at me.
We went to our room and he changed into sweatpants and crawled into bed, turning the tv on.
I changed into shorts and a tee, pulling my hair into a bun.
I joined Brendon.
I laid my head on his shoulder and he had an arm around me.
We watched
Saturday Night Live until we fell asleep, snuggled up to each other.
Everything's okay now.
I can relax.
