Chapter 30

Shinhye's POV:

I always felt safe in Sungjae Oppa's arms. He just had this relaxing effect on me that would help me calm myself whenever I got scared. I held close to him as we started singing..

"Happy birthday to you~~!!" Everyone sang.

"Thank you everyone!"Ilhoon said. 

I caught him staring at me so I held Sungjae closer. 

I dont know what it was, but there was always this lingering feeling I had when I talked, was near, or even thought about him. I even somehow knew it was his birthday. But I cant help but feel scared whenever I see him. Like, some kind of guilt or something...

"Time to eat the cake~"Changsub oppa said. 

"Let Ilhoon eat it first hyung!" Peniel Oppa said. 

"...fine..."Changsub oppa sighed in dissappointment. 

Everyone laughed and started a war on putting cake on each others face. Of course, everyone lost because there was barely any icing left to eat. 

After Ilhoon started eating, everyone rushed to cut the cake and eat some. When it was my turn, Ilhoon got up and served me a slice. 

"Um...Happy birthday Ilhoon Oppa..."I said awkwardly. 

"Thanks Shinhye. It really means alot."He smiled. 

I went back and sat on the floor next to Sungjae and ate cake together. It was a wonderful time.

"Oh my gosh, did I miss the party??"I heard a voice say.

"Oh...Jungah..you came..."Eunkwang hyung said quietly. 

"Sorry we are late, I brought presents!" The boy next to her said quickly. 

"Thanks Minjin!"Ilhoon said. 

"Shinhye!! I missed you girlie~"Jungah exclaimed. 

She rushed over to hug me until It was hard to breathe. 

"How are you? I heard you got in another accident. Are you ok?"She asked.

"Um....who are you?"I asked. 

The girl looked shocked...or at least...I think she looked shocked. 

"Im Jungah! Your best friend! I cant believe you forgot about me!"Jungah said dramatically. 

"Um, excuse me. I dont know what you mean by "best friend"Subin said. 

"Oh, MY BAD."Jungah said sarcastically. 

"Shinshin! What do they mean by an accident?"The boy asked.

"....Um...well...Im not exactly too sure myself...and...who are you again?"I asked. 

"Its Minjin! Your high school best friend! With Ilhoon. Dont you remember?"He asked. 

I was best friends with Ilhoon? 

"I lost my memory...apparently. So im afraid I dont know you..."I said quietly. 

Minjin looked shocked. 

"Shinhye. This is all a joke right? A prank?"He looked around. 

Everyone shook their head sadly. 

"I cant believe this is happening. Where was the message? Was I the only one out?"Minjin said angrily. 

"Look, you need to calm down.."Hyunsik Oppa said. 

After that mess, the party got really awkward, so most the people decided to go to a karoake room and party. I stayed to get ready and leave later. 

"Are you sure you can find the way?"Sungjae asked. 

"Yes, We went there like 50 times Oppa! Im sure I can get there."I giggled. 

"Im just worried..."Sungjae sighed. 

I kissed him on the cheek softly. 

"Ill be fine ok? Ill see you there in like, 30 minutes."I said. 

"Ok~"He said cheerfully. 

I got ready and ate my medication. I went outside to find Ilhoon waiting for me. 

"Hey! I decided to come get you just in case."Ilhoon said. 

"Thank you..."I said awkwardly. 

We walked for about a minute before I stopped. 

"Whats wrong?"He asked. 

"...Whats your relationship with me?"I asked. 

"What do you mean?"He asked. 

"I keep getting this lingering feeling between you and me! And I dont even remember you! Minjin said we were best friends in high school but the feelings seem to strong for it to be like that. And I remembered somehow it was your birthday today! Tell me, what was our relationship like?"I asked. 

Ilhoon grabbed me and pushed me softly against the wall. He kissed me softly at first, then passionatly. He grabbed my shoulders tightly and continued to kiss me. And the biggest suprise to me was, that I actually enjoyed the kiss. It was sweet, full of love and kindness. I didnt want it to end before he let go and ended our amazing kiss. 

"It was this kind of relationship."He said. 

He continued walking forward to the karoake place without a word. 

I touched my lips. The lingering feeling between us got stronger. I looked at him and saw a slightly more familar shape. I smiled. 

Ilhoonie.
