Prologue

Kim Byungjoo has made many enemies but was never able to make lasting friends while in his freshman (and junior) year of high school. He lost them all for almost the same reason: he was 'too happy and positive' that made him seem self-absorbed and inconsiderate to others. After the last friend said goodbye, he took their words to heart. Since he was moving to the next town over with his mother, he figured he should make a "fresh start".

This start wasn't just to make friends again and see how everything plays out, this was to change his ways completely. When starting his new high school in his sophomore year, he refused to crack his true personality, the 'bouncy' Byungjoo everyone used to know in his old town. He forcefully made himself act more mature and calm, making him seem tougher to most of the kids.

Oh, this wasn't good.

The fake persona led up to him being invited to a small group that contained some of the popular males in the school. He didn't want to accept at first, because he knew right off the bat that they would mean trouble, but he was desperate for friends. So, even though he knew better, he accepted the invitation and ended up joining them at lunch, sitting in front of the class with the other popular kids, skipping class occasionally, etc.

It didn't surprise him that he ended up with a lot of people hating him, since he was misunderstood as "one of them". Though he acted careless, it hurt. This wasn't even him, but no one knew that.

He wished to be able to show someone his true self, but was afraid of being abandoned again.

Kinda short at first, but I'm pretty sure the first chapter is going to be a little longer. (*▼▽▼*)
