Time Apart

A lot had happened since Merle died, The Governor killed all his soldiers in fit of rage and his residents fled and Rick opened the door for them, the prison has become more homely too, more cell blocks cleaned out for people, regular food, running water and everyone had jobs, there was even a resident doctor. However things for Daryl and Tina couldnt be worse, he changed after Merle died, distanced himself more, sure he would be the go to town guy and the hunter bringing back deer for everyone but that was all he did, he had completely shut Tina out, except this time she wasnt going to chase him. The way he was acting it was like he didnt love her and probably never did, he ditched her like she was nothing.

"You two helping me today?" Rick asked as he walked down to Tina and Carl who were naming the pigs he had in a pen and joking about "what did i tell you two about naming them? They are food not pets" Rick moaned at them causing Tina and Carl to look at eachother and roll their eyes "dad we like them" Carl insisted as Tina nodded " that one is Piglet" Tina joked, teasing Rick who pulled a sarcastic face at her. Carl walked round to the other side of the pen giving Rick a chance to speak with Tina in private "now i understand you and Daryl are not exactly seeing eye to eye at the moment but last night was not the best way to go about it" he sternly warned her, he was referring to last night at dinner when Daryl and Tina erupted into an almighty row, it ended with Daryl tossing his plate at the wall and Tina storming out. Rick or the others didnt know what it was about but it was over Tina becoming friends with a male newcomer, completely innocent but Daryl just saw red and how Tina put it  when he followed her outside "you dumped me and ignored me for weeks, you have no right to tell me what to do anymore".
Tina sighed at Rick's comment but he was right there was no need for it, Daryl just gets her so heated the way he ditched her and cut her out his life just like that that she couldnt hold it in anymore. "It wont happen again, i promise" she reassured him. Rick had become a good friend to her, he kept her secret and was there for her when Daryl left her, not even telling him he knew.

Tina sat on her bed reading the same old book from the library, Gone With The Wind, she had read it plenty of times since being there but with nothing else to do sometimes she re read it. Beth was in the hospital wing helping out with the sick after a viral illness plagued a few of them, meaning everyone not infected was segregated away, Tina was pleased Daryl was always out to not be affected but she could see he wasnt too concerned if she had been when Rick told him who had been blighted by it.

Tina was jolted from her bed when an explosion hit the prison causing parts of the ceiling to cave in amidst smoke, dust and fire. Being the only one hanging in the cell block at the time Tina dashed to get out, finding the group gathered round by the gates looking at a army of cars including a tank. Slowing down as she came across the silent stand off she peeked through the gap of the wired fence and noticed Hershel and Michonne being held by The Governor who was standing on the tank with Rick in front of them. "Whats going on?" She asked Maggie who looked frozen with fear. "I dont know, he got daddy" she sounded choked. She stood watching trying to work out what was being said between Rick and The Governor, it was clear he wanted the prison and judging by the people he had behind him they would be assisting him in taking it. Daryl patted her on the back and as she turned he slyly handed her a gun and the one to Maggie "be prepared" he warned them both before handing them to the others.

The moment The Governor cut Hershel's head off everything went silent, Maggie was screaming next to her but Tina couldnt hear anything, too dazed by the events to even hear the gunfire she and the others were using to take down his army. Everyone got separated when The Governor's army broke down the fences and stormed in, Tina tried to make a break for it on the bus Maggie, Bob and Sasha were heading for but got cornered by stray walkers, taking them out while avoiding being shot by his army she realised she had no ammo left "shit!" She cried aloud as she hid behind a cabinet, wondering what the hell to do she was pulled out by Daryl who told her "stay behind me" as he held her arm aiming at other members of the army, pulling the ring of a grenade her tossed it down the gun of the tank and killed the occupants as it imploded. Seeing the bus drive off as well as other vehicles Tina could see their escape becoming futile "c'mon we gotta go" he said pulling her and running from the prison. "Where are we going? What about the others?" She asked to which Daryl shook his head "come on" he urged her to follow him.
