Everything's Changing

Before anyone could answer Tina's question a fireball engulfed the lake, the light from the flames turning the heads of the oncoming walkers. Rick and the others saw this as their chance to take them out from behind as they continued their battle.

Most of the walkers ended up in the lake, the fire doing their work for them.

Dropping their weapons with exhaustion as they won what was left of their safe zone from the dead, Tina spotted Daryl ontop of a truck and was ecstatic to see him.

"You alright? Poppy okay?" Daryl asked as he pulled Tina to his chest and kissed her forehead repeatedly before kissing her on the lips. "Poppy is safe, I'm so happy you are back!" She cried into him "whats the matter? Im here now, like i promised" he asked with concern as he pulled her from his chest to wipe her tears "It wasnt just walkers, there were others trying to take this, she got into the house and I tried to stop her but i couldnt do it" Tina tried to explain "id never done that before, im not like you or Rick, i tried to protect what we had" she added looking disappointed in herself "you are, you know you are," he answered trying to reassure her.

A few weeks had passed and the walls were re built, and built a lot stronger. The clear up of walkers took the longest with most of the group working round the clock to rid the town of them. Jessie, Sam and Ron were buried in the small cemetery were Deanna's husband Reg lay.

Carl recovered from being shot in the eye, Denise saved his life, she was a life saver as far as Rick was concerned.

Rick and Daryl were on a run, a few of the group were beginning to think it was a lost cause now, hardly anything was bought back, they needed medical supplies, food and other sundries, what Alexandria had was starting to run low and more so since the attack on the safe zone.

"Do you think today will be a good day?" Aaron asked as he plodded down next to Tina on her porch step. "Hope so" she smiled weakly puffing on a cigarette "didnt know you smoked" Aaron mentioned as he sat. Looking at the cigarette and the smoke swirling into the air Tina sighed "only when Daryl isnt around" "Daryl and Rick, can handle themselves, they will be back you know" Aaron reassured her "i know that, just Daryl is always the one who has to go and i get scared something will happen" She confessed flicking the cigarette away from her. "Daryl is made for this world, he can do this with his eyes shut" Aaron replied causing Tina to let out a laugh. "Maybe if you want a stay at home husband pick someone like him" Aaron added pointing to Eugene who was walking past the house scoffing a chocolate bar.  Poppy's cries from inside the house stopped their laughter "best go, see you later Aaron" Tina said rubbing the top of his back.

At nightfall Tina got into bed and moved over to Daryl's side, it was clear he wouldnt be back tonight so she wanted to sleep on his side and smell him. As much as she missed him she couldnt deny what he had done for this safe zone as well as the group, he wasnt just her hero now.

"Scooch over" she heard Daryl whisper as he climbed into bed behind her "you're back" Tina sighed smiling, turning around to face him, she was confused as to why he looked disappointed "bad day?" She asked stroking his face "can say that, got a visitor as well" he replied rolling his hairs "guys knocked out, Denise is looking over him, he is tied up" he added. "Got you this though" he said changing the subject as he wriggled in his pocket and pulled out a squished bar of chocolate "its been in my pocket" he said sounding defeated as he passed it to Tina who quickly unwrapped it "squished chocolate is the best" she teased as she scooped some of the melted chocolate onto her finger and sucked it off. "Doesnt have to be a bad day" she whispered seductively putting the chocolate on the bedside table and getting closer to Daryl.

The next morning Tina and Daryl were awoken to frantic knocking, Daryl ran down the stairs to see what it was while Tina got dressed quickly "T wait here ill be back!" He yelled up the stairs as she watched him from the window pace over to Rick's with his crossbow followed by Abraham, Glenn and Maggie.

Once she got Poppy settled over at Carol's she joined her group over at Rick's watching as they talk with a long haired, bearded man. Maggie whispered to her who he was as Tina sat beside her.

"Your world is about to get a whole lot bigger!" Jesus, the bearded man revealed causing a a mixed reaction from the group.

Walking out Maggie explained to Tina that his group make trades with others and seeing as the groups provisions are low Jesus felt it a good idea to show them the Hilltop and what it has.

"We go there, see what they have" Maggie finished before Daryl barged past "we go. You aint" he stated meaning Tina who quickly left Maggie's side and caught up with Daryl "why not?" She quizzed him making him stop in his tracks "You have to stay with the baby, i dont trust this guy, Rick is too blind to see it" Daryl snapped waving his arms in the direction of Rick "Carol can have her, I have to help out sometime" Tina said insistently "you are only going to his place" she added trying to reason "nah, ill just see you later" he said quickly and walked away. "He wants to protect you" Maggie said catching up to Tina as she scowled at Daryl walking on "Glenn letting you go?" Tina asked knowing full well she was going "you have Poppy to think about" was all Maggie could answer with.

Tina sat on her porch after putting Poppy to sleep, waiting for Daryl and the others to return. Smoking her 5th cigarette in the space of an hour, Tina could feel it hitting her lungs but it helped her pass the time while waiting, so she told herself anyway.

When the bright head lights from the RV pulling in hit her eyes she quickly stood up and hid the cigarettes she had, smiling at a weary looking Daryl as he walked over to their house "smoking again are we?" He mentioned in his husky voice as he lit one slumping on the steps "only when you are out. Kinda get worried about ya" she smiled nervously joining him back on the step as Daryl pulled a face at her rolling his eyes playfully. "So..whats happening?" She nudged him in the arm to reveal "some assholes called The Saviours run their town, steal everything they have, including their people. Rick made a deal, we take them out or at least this 'Negan' " Daryl spoke making quotations for Negan "we trade with them, their cows, their medical services" Daryl finished as Tina expressed her concern with her face "and its that simple?" Tina replied almost laughing. Taking a deep inhale of his cigarette "took 8 of his assholes down in one hit" Daryl admitted to Tina's shock.
