It felt like they had been running for miles, and it probably had been, adrenaline running through their bodies not letting them stop. Eventually Tina had to stop, collapsing with exhaustion in a field as Daryl did the same "should we go back? For the others?" She asked catching her breath "there is nothing to go back to" Daryl snapped. "Well what do you propose we do then?" She snapped back annoyed she was stuck with Daryl like this. "We will have to find somewhere" he stated getting up and walking onwards, he didnt even check to see if she was behind him.
The walk was long and silent, Tina followed his footsteps, even getting hit with branches he was moving out the way for himself but letting them swing onto her "can you not do that?" She sarcastically remarked, rolling her eyes in frustration as he ignored her. "Great..this is just great" she remarked to herself "hey! You wanna shut the hell up so we can find somewhere to stay? Or do you wanna keep whining and not helping?!" Daryl snapped turning to face her "sorry" Tina muttered, she was uneasy with this side of Daryl it was as if she was a burden to him, she wasnt good at hunting but she was capable of taking out walkers.
Walking across a path they found an abandoned house, Daryl scouted the perimeter and the inside making Tina hold back before he waved her over "this place will do, for tonight anyway" Daryl said awkwardly as Tina brushed past him in the doorway "why tonight?" She asked unsure of his reaction "you dont wanna find the others?" She asked walking into the living room studying the dust on the furniture "lets just get through tonight. We dont even know if they are alive" he yawned slinging his crossbow on the arm chair. "We can try find them?" She asked shooting him a smile, he ignored her and slumped down on the sofa "lets just get some sleep yea? We dont know when we are gonna get it again" he grumbled. Sighing Tina sat on the armchair quickly moving his crossbow before she sat on it "so, you dont wanna find the others, and we are only staying here one night? Do you even have a plan?" She asked goading him, "dont start" he whispered "well what then? We dont know where they are we have no ammo and we have no home!" She snapped loudly at him "Tina! Shutup!" He shouted at her sitting up on the sofa "just let me think!" He added. Causing Tina to sink in the chair.
She must of fallen asleep because when she woke she found herself alone and in the dark. "Daryl?" She yell whispered "Daryl!" Still no answer, creeping into the kitchen she lit a old candle with a match and looked around, there was no sign of Daryl anywhere. He wouldnt just leave her would he? Hearing a walker bang on the door as it had seen the flicker of the candle light Tina became scared, blowing it out she ran to the living room but couldnt find her gun in the dark, it sounded like the walker was getting closer to breaking down the door, frantically grabbing anything she could to use to take it down when suddenly the banging and the groaning stopped, standing still she waited to see what it was, the only sound was her heart pounding as if to burst from her chest. Gasping when the door swung open she was so relieved to see Daryl walk in. "Little walker trouble?" He asked with a small smirk "where the hell were you?!" She yelled quietly giving him a dirty look "fetching dinner thankyou very much" he snapped back brandishing a possum in the air "you left me!" She snapped "quit whining i could see the house" he told her shaking his head pulling the curtains closed and re lighting the candle. Tina watched him skin the possum, the sound of it ripping made her shudder. "You dont have to be so snappy with me" she said before walking in the living room to get some sleep. She couldnt sleep anyway but it was better than showing Daryl the way he was being was bothering her.
The sound of a bang on the door startled her awake, was it her imagination or was it actually a bang? The house was pitch black again, and the banging started again, it was another walker. Peering into the hallway she could almost make it out from the back door. "Fuck" she muttered wondering where Daryl was when he came jogging down the stairs with his crossbow "get behind me" he told her pulling her behind him, she gripped onto his lower back as he opened the door and tried to fire "shit, there is too many of them" he yelled pushing her back to run out the front door "run!" He urged her pulling her to run alongside him, again running for what seemed like forever in the pouring rain with walkers following them. Running down a long road with no shelter Tina could feel herself giving up, Daryl could sense she was slowing down. Stopping to look behind him he could see walkers still stomping behind them, a good distance away but not away enough. Spotting a car he ran ahead and popped the trunk "in here" he said pointing to her to get in, he helped her in and then jumped into the trunk after her pulling it shut, both dripping wet and with thunder and lightning above them it was hard to tell where the walkers were until Tina heard them bang alongside the car, only flashes of lightning showing the walkers through the gaps in the trunk. Daryl pulled her closer to him, her soaked clothes making her shiver "im so scared Daryl" she whispered through tears although it was hard to tell with the rain dripping from her hair onto her face. Squeezing her hand and kissing her forehead "me too sweetheart, me too" he whispered, fear evident in his voice.
