Dont Do That

"Are you crazy? We cant just run because of Merle. What we do for food? For shelter?" Daryl reminded her what the world still was. "Merle will tell them. He plain and simple just told me he would" Tina freaked out, nudging her along Daryl reassured her "well we will just have to beat him to it, im not ashamed are you?" "No of course not. But when?" She asked "as soon as we get in there, we just lay it out" he said holding her hand walking inside.

"Er guys..Merle has gone and he has taken Michonne" Glenn told them frantically. "What?!" Rick questioned angrily, Tina was confused why had he taken her? "He wanted to know what The Governor's terms were so i told him he would leave us alone for Michonne and he just flipped out and grabbed her and left"  Glenn explained "what is with that man today?!" Rick asked glaring directly to Daryl who stood away from Tina and grabbed his crossbow "ill get him" he said walking away from the group "ill come with" Tina said catching him up. "No, dont follow me" he bluntly replied and nudged her arm from his.

"Do you want to explain to me what Merle's problem is Tina?" Rick asked pulling her aside as she watched Daryl leave, Tina felt her heart in her mouth "i can, but i cant" she jabbered, he looked puzzled at her reply, "come with me" she muttered ushering him to follow her outside. Patting the grass she sat down and urged him to do so, he followed suit but looked inpatient "Tina, this isnt a game anymore, we may be going to war here, if there is something i should know, you have to tell me." He warned her, fed up of lying to her friend she took a deep breath and spoke "me and Daryl" she began "we are together sort of" she added, cringing up with awkwardness, she wasnt sure how Rick would react but judging by his confused expression he needed more "i know im his step sister but we didnt grow up together and i hadnt seen him since i was 16 and i dont know things just happened and we have been keeping it a secret and Merle found out and flipped" Tina added speaking really fast she couldnt breathe, Rick urged her to slow down "here, listen, no one here will judge you guys, like you said you are not related. Is this why Merle was over Daryl earlier?" He asked, his reaction made her feel at ease "yea" she whispered "Daryl and Merle have to sort this out between them" she sighed "its always been that way" she rolled her eyes "Tina this doesnt change anything, you and Daryl are valued members of this group--" Rick began explaining "but Merle?" She interjected to which Rick exhaled exacerbated "i dont know, he isnt one of us" Tina nodded at his words. Rick looked at Tina, he could see worry written all over her face pulling her into a friendly hug he placed a kiss on her forehead "it will be alright i promise"

The rest of the afternoon the group sat around waiting for Daryl, Merle and Michonne to get back, Tina stared into space, reliving her conversation with Rick and how he was so supportive of her and how she couldnt wait for Daryl to get back to tell him, although the others didnt yet know about them she knew it would all be okay.

When Michonne returned alone people became suspicious Rick mainly. "He let you go?" He asked stopping Tina from bombarding her with questions with a raise of his hand "what happened?" He quizzed her further as she walked face plain as day towards the others. "He must of?" Tina answered for her looking back outside to see if the other two were behind.

Tina sat outside waiting for them to come back and as the day dragged on she started doubting if they would. What if they upped and left her again? Or worse something serious happened?
Her face lit up when she saw Daryl walking back to the prison, his head was bowed and he was taking his time, he was also alone.

Pulling the gate slowly as she struggled with the weight, too eager to wait for the others to help her she called out "you on your own?" He ignored her, when he caught eyes with her it was clear he had been crying, he tried to scuttle past her without her noticing but it was obvious that wasnt going to happen "Daryl, dont ignore me. What happened" she demanded stopping him from getting past. "He's dead Tina" he said breaking down into the crook of her neck. "Serious?" She asked tears forming as she looked at the sky as she cradled Daryl "he went to finish The Governor off and hand him Michonne but he let her go and told her he would do it alone" he replied sniffing "was he bit?" She asked Daryl shook his head "nah, he let him turn that son of a bitch" he said hurling his crossbow past them. "Its always been me and him you know and now" Daryl started but stopped himself "yea and he was the one who would pick you up and put you down when he wanted" Tina reminded him, she was sad about Merle but he was still an asshole regardless, even more so for the way he would treat Daryl. "Dont do that now Tina" he sighed breaking away from her "do what?" She asked fed up "no one deserved what he got" Daryl replied referring to Merle's death, "and you didnt deserve to be beaten by him or bossed about by him" Tina tried to reason with him but he just walked away from her "dont do that" were his last words to her.

Even in death Merle still had a hold on Daryl.
