Forbidden ~Book One~ Daryl Dixon~

Running

The plan was simple, Daryl, Abraham and Sasha will lead the walkers to an intersection 30 miles out, The group had built walls to guide them the right way, Rick wanted to do test run after test run and he was right to do so, his group could do it, near on blindfolded,but the Alexandrians had no idea how big this task was and without them they would end up with 500+ walkers descending into their safe haven.

The only thing Rick hadnt banked on was the two lorries stemming the flow of walkers falling into the quarry at the abounding pressure, he wanted it to be a steady swarm of walkers, one section at a time, instead they had to act fast and "do it live" as Abraham announced.

Tina was running behind Rick, everyone had been separated, she wasnt sure where they went, but right now Tina and Rick were running back home, a deafening horn was sounding out the entire area, most likely drawing the walkers their way. Turning around she could see a large mass following them, far too many for her and Rick to even debate on taking down alone.

"That horn is coming from home" Rick spoke angrily grabbing Tina's arm and leading her through the woods, hoping it would shake the walkers off a bit and spread them out "we gotta get back" Rick yelled back to her "but what about the wakers following us?" Tina called back, Rick ignored her, he had no answer for her.

Heading into the gates of Alexandria it was clear something was wrong. Residents were running, a truck had destroyed one of the walls and with its horn blaring it was bringing the walkers their way.

Rick pointed Tina to the truck to disable the horn. Opening the truck door she found a scruffy man slumped over the steering wheel, cautiously pulling him from it and stopping the noise she  was shocked to see a 'W' written in blood on his forehead "they are all running around here, broke down the walls and are now killing people, its not just walkers!" Spencer said as he emerged from the passenger side door and pointing to the 'W' and stabbing the man in the head to prevent him turning. "We have walkers heading this way" Tina explained frantically as she jumped down from the truck and tried to catch up with Rick who was taking down the intruders along with Carol. Looking over to the house Poppy was in along with Judith, Carl and Jessie, Tina could see a wild haired women creeping in through a window, she had to be with the intruders, pulling out her gun she quickly followed her inside, nothing was happening to anyone inside that house if Tina could help it.

Climbing through the window Tina listened out  as creeks went up the stairs, following suit she found the woman sneaking into one of the bedrooms, praying no one was in there, Tina pulled her gun, breathed in and took aim although not being able to through her shaking hands, psyching herself up she creeped further down the hallway to fire, not banking on the woman re emerging and hitting Tina in the face with her elbow making her stumble to the ground. As the intruder viciously grabbed at Tina's neck, Tina yanked at her hair as she frantically tried to be released from her grasps, freeing her other hand Tina used all she had to punch the woman on the side of the face, momentarily freeing her neck as Tina now straddled her, a shot was fired as Tina went to reach for her gun that was just above the woman's head only to see Jessie aiming hers looking scared at what had just unfolded. Watching the pool of blood form from the intruders head Tina stood up and breathed out.

"We gotta get outta here" Tina said breathlessly looking relieved when she saw Carl come out of another bedroom holding Poppy followed by Sam and Ron who was holding Judith. "Walkers are everywhere as well as these pricks" Tina added kicking the deceased woman in the side. "How? We are trapped" Carl pointed out. Jessie and Tina exchanged glances until they heard someone run up the stairs "go go go" Jessie whispered in panic motioning everyone to hide back in the bedroom "Jessie!" Rick called out washing a wave of relief over everyone "c'mon we all gotta go" Rick said hugging Carl and stroking Judith "there is no way Rick" Tina whimpered as she held Poppy close to her. "I know a way" he explained before taking Carl with him downstairs  "stay here and stay low" he told them before leaving the girls, Ron and Sam.

"Cover yourself in these" Rick began as he handed spare sheets to Tina, Jessie and the boys and began hacking at the dead woman on the floor. Looking confused Tina watched as he smothered himself and Carl in her blood and guts "they wont smell us" he explained motioning the others to do the same "hide the girls under your sheets, we make it out of here we have a chance" Rick added as Tina carefully placed Poppy under her sheet as Carl did the same with Judith "we walk slow and stay close" Rick told them sternly as he took Jessie's hand as they formed a line and left the house. Gasping at the sight of the masses of walkers stomping about outside Tina clutched Poppy tightly underneath her praying she wouldnt cry or make any noise right now. Slowly they walked, brushing past hungry walkers as they ignored them obliviously, Rick's idea was working, they were actually getting away with it!

Sam began slowing down the formation as fear took over him, "Sam come on" Jessie whispered through gritted teeth as she realised he was freezing up. "Please come on" she begged as he stayed frozen. Tina and Rick turned just as two walkers descended onto him, one biting his neck and the other his arm as he cried for his mother. Rick tried to get Jessie to walk, it was too late for Sam. Giving up watching her son being devoured, Jessie looked numb as walkers took her and tore chunks from her. This was unravelling and fast. Rick's state of mind changing rapidly. "Come on" Tina said ushering Carl with her as Ron stopped and turned his gun on Rick, the walkers still unaware they were not in fact dead like them but it wouldnt be for long the more they spoke. Carl under passed Judith to Tina as he pointed for Tina to carry on best she could getting the youngsters to the church which was the safest place right now.

Pacing to the church Tina could feel herself struggling to carry Judith and Poppy and was relieved when Michonne came out from the church doors and helped her inside as Tina pulled the bloodied sheet from her. The sound of a gunshot turned their attention to Rick, Carl and Ron in the distance before Carl collapsed into his father. "Wait here" Michonne growled as she swiped the sheet over her and ran with her katana taking walkers out in her way before impaling it through Ron who had shot Carl. Rick scooped his son up and ran to Denise's followed by Michonne.

"Carl's been shot" Tina said passing Judith to Maggie who was hiding in the church with Aaron the resident Father, Gabriel. As they watched Denise take Carl inside they saw something in Rick snap as he began slaying the walkers leaving Carl in Denise's care. Once Michonne emerged following Rick in taking them down, Tina, Maggie and Aaron joined them leaving the babies under Gabriel's protection. Before long Morgan, Carol, Spencer, Rosita and Eugene joined them in helping as well as other hiding residents as they all regained their town.

"Has anyone seen Daryl?" Tina asked concerned as they re grouped after taking down the walkers surrounding them.
