"I did what you asked (Random Girl's Name)-chan. You have to stop now," Kise ordered weakly. He would never forget that expression of despair on your face when he said those words. It felt like his heart had been ripped out of his chest. How could he have not noticed sooner, before you told him? You were suffering because him and he didn't notice. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't stand up for you directly. He blamed himself for being a coward and end up being the one to hurt you.

He should've done something about his fangirls. He could've, but he didn't. Over the summer, he made a deal with (Random Girl's Name), one of your bullies. If he did as she asked, she would stop bullying you. Kise knew the consequences, but he went through with it anyway.

How could I have been so stupid, Kise thought.

"Hmmm...." (Random Girl's Name) put her hand on her chin and pretended to be in deep thought. Then she cracked a smile, "How about no?"

Kise could have sworn his heart stopped beating.

(Random Girl's Name) let out a chuckle, "It was honestly too easy to trick you. You were so desperate, I just had to. I didn't know you were that dumb. Who cares if you're a model?"

She turned to walk away, "Oh, and good luck getting your 'beloved' back. You'll need it."

She left Kise standing alone, utterly defeated. It was like his whole world was crashing down.

(First Name)-cchi.

Kise's eyes widened and frantically began searching around. He needed to explain to you, apologize to you. He wanted to hold you in his arms, wanted to kiss your lips. No, he didn't want to believe it was too late.

He hurried to your house, the last place where you would probably be.

Your surprised mother opened the door to see a panicking Kise.

"Is (First Name)-cchi here?" he asked.

There was a glimmer of curiosity in her eyes vas she spoke, "Yes, (First Name) is here, but she told me that if you came by not to let you in. My apologies, Kise-san."

He was too late.

He was too freaking late.

"Oh, thank you (Last Name)-san. I need to get going."

Kise regretted all of it. He promised you that he was never going to hurt you. He promised. Now he had hurt you and what for?

Nothing.

He was gullible. He fell for the trick.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

He was stupid.

He was a coward.

But there was nothing he could do anymore.

Whenever Kise approached you, you would feel a pang of sadness and tears threatening to fall. You would avoid him as best you could. It didn't help that (Random Girl's Name) and her gang still enjoyed picking on you since school started. Kise was always so desperate to talk to you and you didn't understand why. He didn't want to be with you.

You didn't want to move on from him, but you know that he already has for you. It hurt like hell.

You found yourself getting used to the pain and Kise all became but a distant memory. Your heart still ached whenever you thought of him, but it wasn't as bad as before.

One day when (Random Girl's Name) and her friends had cornered you, a boy from your class spotted it and managed to chase them away. He smiled at you.

For the first time in a long time you smiled back.

Kise could only watch from afar, knowing that you wouldn't want to be with him. He knew that, that exchange of smiles was the beginning of something. He felt happy for you, but his heart ached. He still loved you a lot and it pained him to see you with someone that wasn't him, but he was relieved because you could finally have someone who could protect you.

Kise turned his head away from the sight.

I think it's time to move on, too.

I'm upset. But more than that, I disappointed because I didn't get to apologize to you and tell you what really happened that day.
