I woke up the next day , with a heavy head. Gosh. I pulled myself from the bed and went to take a bath. I brushed my teeth, changed into black jeans and a blue shirt with a black coat on it-just to keep it a bit formal.

After breakfast, Hayden and I left for work. Worst part of this morning ; I didn't get to see Seth. Susan said he left early, saying he had some classes to take. I forgot he was in college.

On our way to the workplace , Hayden talked about the lunch we had, he told me that many people didn't approve of Seth's mother's decision of handing over the company to a nineteen year old. I guess he was right, first thing I wasn't qualified, second thing ; in the eyes of people I or the heir of Clavane had to manage his studies and meetings at the same time. And the third thing being : that I was too young.

Seth's mother should've given the company to Hayden. He clearly deserved it-I've seen him working, he really works hard.

My life has been so confusing , since the past few months. I mean - switching from being only a waitress at a diner to being one of the richest, more specifically a Clavane , and the heir of the company. The world knows about this , except Seth's mother. Then there are those pathetic messages, not to forget my father's accident.Lastly ; when Jake confronted me at the charity event . Wow. My life is a mess and I blame Seth. God! Why am I even doing this?

"Lauren , I was thinking about your training." Hayden said whilst  looking at me.

"My training?" I raised my brows.

"Yes. Well you're young and you need to understand some things before taking decisions." He explained.

I nod my head. "When does this training start ?"

"Tomorrow." He said, I shrugged and nodded. He left the room.

I stood up and looked outside the glass window. My mind went back to those texts. I hope Seth has found out who it is.

A knock on my door , brought me back to the present. I said, "Come in." not moving my eyes from the city.
"Uhmm" I heard a familiar voice. I turned around and saw Brandon standing across the table. He had one of his hands stuffed inside his pockets.

"Oh , hi!" I grinned at him.

"I was going out for lunch...um if you're not busy would you like to come?" He smiled.

"Uh sure." I shrugged. I grabbed my purse and went out with him. We walked down the nearest restaurant. Brandon asked me to take my car , but I declined ; I like to walk sometimes. He reminded me regarding the paparazzi chasing us. But I don't care.

"So Brandon , tell me something about yourself? I never got a chance to know you." I beamed at him.

He looked at his food , then again at me "Um , I don't have much to tell you."

"Oh , come on! Okay. Tell me something about your family." , said I , while putting a forkful of chicken steak in my mouth.

"My parents live in California and I have two sisters. They are my life, I can't imagine my life without them."

"That's cute you know." I smiled at him.

"Yeah." He chuckled.

"Any girlfriend?" I blurted out.

"Ah , no." He said, looking a bit disappointed.

"You can tell me , it's fine." I gave him an 'Its okay' look.

"Her name was Jenny, she was my neighbor and my first love. She..she died in a car accident two years ago. I promised her I would  keep her safe and be with her all her life , yet I broke it. We had a fight a day before her accident, she was mad at me , for some reason that I don't even remember. She left me heart broken, I..I called her and begged her to come back telling her I loved her. She was coming back to me and I couldn't even have a chance , to have her in my arms one last time." He had a blank face, in his eyes there was sorrow, guilt and disappointment. In his eyes , there was a crack. He bowed down his head. I squeezed his hand, "I'm sorry. I just don't know what to say."

"Its okay-I just..." He looked away. "Lets just forget about my sad story. What about you , any boyfriend?" He managed to put a smile on his face.

I sighed "No-I was always the nerdy type , so I never got noticed by the boys." I pursed my lips into a thin line.

"Nerd ; as in that big glasses and a pony tail nerd?"

"Yup." I took a sip of my drink.

"Damn." He chuckled. I rolled my eyes at him. We talked and laughed.

Ring ring

My phone rang, it was Seth. I attended it.

"Hello?"

"Where are you?"

"I'm with a friend. Why?"

"Get home now."

"Yes boss." I rolled my eyes and hung up.

"Everything okay?"

"Yeah it was Hayden, he wants me home." I lied, well half lied.

"Okay then lets walk back to the company." I nodded.

I stormed out of the car, cursing Seth and went inside the house. He was on the couch , looking tense. I walked up to him, "What was so necessary , that you have to call me this urgent?"

He looked at me-straight into my eyes, "Mom is coming." He said.

I felt panic rising  inside me. "What?!"

He glared at me "You heard me." He paused. "And she knows."

"Knows what?"

"She called me today, she was saying she read about you in an article. You're famous now."

I froze, my mouth suddenly went dry. I was just blankly staring at Seth. He noticed my expression and stood up. I was on the verge of crying but why would I cry? It wasn't my fault. No it was. I did it for money. Seth's mother knows how low I am. I stole somebody's identity for money.

"W..when is she coming?" I asked.

"Today."

My head shot up, I just couldn't believe what he said. Just then the door flung opened and a lady appeared , she must be in her thirties I guess. She had  curly brown hair, brown eyes. She was tall and beautiful I must say , but she was way too angry.

"Seth Richard Clavane!" She shouted. I moved my eyes , from her to Seth. He turned pale and was badly sweating.

"Mom." He said under his breath.

I froze, I wanted to die at the time. He came forward to see his mother. I was now left at the back, trembling with fear.

"What do you think you are doing?!" His mother shouted.

"Mom , listen . I can explain."

"Shut up." His mother's eyes moved towards me and took a step forward.

"So you are the girl , huh?" I gulped. "Who is she?"

"My girlfriend."
